New version of Slic3r?

Post by 0110-m-p »

I know most of us moved away from Slic3r many moons ago for Cura, KISSlicer, and/or Simplify3D, but after hearing about a much improved new version of Slic3r I was intrigued to take a look. So I downloaded and sliced a few files and the tool paths looked nice but I haven't actually made any test prints yet. Also, the real time slicing and octoprint integration are pretty cool features.

Has anyone given the latest version (v1.2.9) a try yet?

Also...here are the release notes from earlier this summer...

Yes sir, I'm using Slic3r 1.2.9 and it's working great.
I miss the fast slicing from Cura, but now they have infill overlap and the 3d honeycomb infill is awesome.

BTW, I've never used KISS or S3D.
