Disable top layer?
Disable top layer?
I'm sure the setting is right under my nose but I'm not seeing it. In KISS 1.5beta 2.16 where do I turn off the top layer if I want to expose my infill? Vase mode obviously does it but that's not what I want.
Re: Disable top layer?
She'll thickness or skin thickness to 0. Then just specify you want x many perimiters.
Re: Disable top layer?
Skin thickness 0 gets me close but it also turns off the bottom layer. I want a bottom layer and infill and no top layer.Nylocke wrote:She'll thickness or skin thickness to 0. Then just specify you want x many perimiters.

KISSlicer determines top/bottom filled skin thickness as a single setting. You could do it with some careful editing of the gcode after slicing. I'm not aware of a slicer that has separate control of top and bottom skins.

Off of the top of my head, Simplify3D, Slic3r, and MatterControl have this capability. It's not uncommon. I rarely ever need to turn off the top layer except for this one specific project and I happened to have been in KISSlicer. I can use one of the other 3 slicers I mentioned. No biggie.Earthbound wrote:KISSlicer determines top/bottom filled skin thickness as a single setting. You could do it with some careful editing of the gcode after slicing. Thanks everyone.

Re: Disable top layer?
I should know that, since I've used these settings in Matter Control in the past. Just haven't used it for a while after playing with KISSlicer.heathenx wrote:Off of the top of my head, Simplify3D, Slic3r, and MatterControl have this capability. Cura has this capability, under the expert settings. You'll see, it's explicitly named and a checkbox for top or bottom fill.
