Hi guys, modelmaking company here with my first printer.

Hi all,

Nice to finally join you! I'm a UK based freelance model maker, and I'm currently investing in my own 3D printing capabilities. I'm about half way through my Rostock Max V3 kit, and I have also backed the Morpheus delta KS for fine detail parts. Previously I've been sending parts out to bureaus, mostly Perfactory and Projet HD Max work. My own machines will allow me to keep more production in house which is great.

I do quite varying work. As well as model making I also offer CAD design services - any Flames Of War players here will recognise my work in most of FOW's plastic tank kits from the last few years. But I do all sorts, mostly for the hobby, maritime and defence industries. Work is growing all the time, and it's nice to be expanding my capability.

I can't speak highly enough of the RoMax kit - as someone who designs kits for a living I can appreciate the work that goes into reducing parts and assembly time as well as making things idiot-proof. The quality of the components is outstanding, I can't wait to get printing with it!

Anyway, back to assembling the top section, see you guys around!

Regards,

Will.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you here!

Post some pics of your work, or a link to your website, I'm curious about the kinds of things that you work on.

Sure! Here are some links to work I have shown on Reddit. Unfortunately a lot the work I do is under NDA's so I can't show some of the defence and engineering stuff just yet, but my hobby market work is something I can show.

Some 1/72 Rotor blades to upgrade a Revell kit:

One of my own brand 1/700 Resin warship kits:

A 1/50 Rally Raid concept model:

A couple of Flames of War plastic kits:

I have a web shop for my resin kits, http://www.gwylanmodels.com/. Though I'm taking a break from production at the moment while I move house and get the rest of this new workshop put together!

The RoMax is really going to help me with larger projects such as sections of ship hulls and large scale armoured vehicle parts. It'll need more finishing than SLA sure, but it's a whole lot less expensive and nothing that some high build primer and wet and dry sanding can't shine. I'm leasing a Form2 from a friend until I get my Morpheus, and between the two I'm hoping that particularly for the larger model work I do i won't have to send many STLs off to be done out of house :).
