Here is the Gen6 wiki page on reprap.

I have one of these boards and only played around with it. My experience was positive though. I would like to build another H-1 configured with the Gen6. It is a single board that controls all 4 steppers and the hot end with thermistor feedback. It does not provide control for a heated bed like the RAMPS solutions do.

I does run Marlin and I have had some decent experiences with Gen6.
