Have any of you guys given this a shot? http://jtechphotonics.com/?product=1-7w ... driver-kit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've got some preliminary findings here: https://mattlapaglia.com/?p=547" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am currently working with the dev to get some STLs for mounting it to the effector and smoothieware configuration changes to get it working.

Nice, please share your experience when you get the kit.
I was thinking of getting the same laser.

EDIT: nvm, that was your review :D
I will wait for part 2

That's really important to see, I didn't know the Cheapo Laser was so crappy for $200.

Part 2 is up: https://mattlapaglia.com/?p=600" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm having issues with the infill not meeting the perimeter, it seems to be tied to the X axis on the printer. I went around and tightened everything up but still the same issue.

Does the infill arc look a little too "neat" for it to be a hardware issue? It looks like a nice curve, just off. Could the smoothieware firmware be rounding off or something?

It almost looks like the laser is tilted slightly... I would start by checking to make sure you are mounted perpendicular to the cutting surface.

My shiny rigol arrived today, I've put off not having a scope for too long.

Here's the signal I get when running a burn command with S1 set:

If I set it to anything less than 1 it doesn't send any pwm:

I would thing the edge would progress to the right the lower the S value being sent?

Reflashing the smoothieboard with latest edge fixed the problem. I have some 3" open cell foam coming in the mail, will update then. If any of you guys want examples of stuff being cut let me know / mail me something.
