Rostock V2 stops in mid-print

Post by dthacker9 »

Hi Printers,
I do my printing at the Omaha Maker Group on our Rostock V2. I've been trying to print a Raspi case but the job is suddenly stopping early in the print.

Here are my symptoms.
When the job stops:
  • The printer is still powered on.
The print head is not moving and the filament is not feeding.
Matter Control thinks the printer is connected and displays no errors.
The LED display on the front of the printer is dark.
There is only a single amber light inside the case. Usually, there are also 3 or 4 flashing red lights.
The air blowing out of the printer base is not hot.
After power cycling the printer, you can see the LED display is powered, however, no text is displayed.
If I wait 3-4 minutes and power cycle again, the LED display is back and I can cancel the job in Matter Control.
To verify the .stl file was sane, I had a co-worked print the same job. There were no errors.

What should I do to troubleshoot? Do you have an idea what is going on?

Thanks,
Dave

I would check to see if the power supply is ok. You should see nearly 12V (like 11.9) when both the hot end and bed are heating.
