y axis sticking

so my printer was working well and then i put the heated bead on and now the y axis sticks at some points in the print and then mis prints because the stepps are off. i totally cleaned the bearing and slide rods and readjusted the belt tension and everything seams right. i test the motor with no belt and it does not skip steps. i also have the guide rods parrellel within .005". with the belt off the table moves buttery smooth by hand...what is the problem? im using the h 1.1 kit.

What motor drivers are you using? RAMPS or parallel port board?

I am using the latest version of ramps

Have you adjusted the current drivers for the motors on the ramps board? They are adjustable, and it's possible that they are set low enough on yours that adding the extra mass of the heated bed causes it to lose steps on quick reverses.

Also, try slowing the whole thing down and see if you still skip steps. If slowing down fixes the problem, it's probably a mass/motor current issue.

i increased the amps going to the y motor and it barely helped im still having trouble with the y axis sticking. i am going to have to strip the whole axis and try and figure it out this weekend

im having a similar issue. I decided to take apart my printer and re-align everything.

I did come across one problem. My aluminum bushings for the front and back bearing were too long. I used a wet grinder and reduced the length to 0.31". I am still reassembling, but hoping that helps.

Well, I didn't notice it til I replaced the plastic bed with some plexiglass, I drilled a new set of holes closer together and moved the rails closer in so they no longer touch
