Max V3 Berkeley

Post by Claymore »

I am an artist and know next to nothing about electronics, but my brother builds and flies drones for a living. He has been helping and supervising the build. It's between 80 and 90 percent done and looks like a printer now instead of lots of teeny bits like when it came. I am a little worried because UPS did not treat it kindly. It arrived open and the box was beat up. Fortunately the delicate cards where in boxes and carefully packed, but the power supply was dented. I hope to finish it by next week. I hope it runs.
I have been following the directions one little step at a time.

The v3 design is greatly simplified over the v2 - it's a pretty easy build. I'm sure you'll do fine. :)

Almost done, the rest has to wait for my brother to have time. My father helped a lot, especially with the wiring and the hot end. I'm going to make him a large dragon when I get printing.

This is a very challenging kit for me, but I have learned a lot from putting it together.

You got bit by an error in the "updated" v3 dozuki. The bed thermistor should have some of that tiny PTFE tubing covering the leads. Without the insulation the wires can either short together or against the metal ring in the big hole that it fits through in the Onyx.

Here's a video that covers the whole assembly of the Onyx - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6yl74TzBxY
