Is there a better option than the bearing covers

Post by mrcaland »

I will be building a new machine. in the mean time i will be reclaiming the trick trucks, arms and effector upgrades from my current machine, returning my Rostock Max V2 to mostly stock configuration using the original carriages, arms and effector. as i am getting the old part ready, I notice that a very large portion of my original 608z bearing covers seem to be eccentric as opposed to concentric. i know you can take the time to assemble and disassemble the bearing covers to minimize the offset, but what i would really like is to replace the cheapskate bearing covers or bearings and still keep the stock carriages.

This would be sooooo much easier if I just knew what I was doing.

I use these, but I don't know if the OD is the same as stock.

thanks. i did some poking around and found:
the stock 608z bearings are
Id: 8mm
Od: 22mm
width: 7mm
the bearings and covers have an od of 25.5 and assembled width of 9mm

those kits have a 5mm id and have a assembled width of 10mm. and the derilin wheel has a ridge on the id for use with 2 bearings. the stack up and dims would not work for existing bearings or the rest of the stock hardware.
This would be sooooo much easier if I just knew what I was doing.

Gotcha, I'm using them on the trick trucks. Just wasn't sure if they would work with the rostock carriages.
