Hot camera - low cost - homemade.

Post by charles »

Hello,
I made a prototype camera hot low cost. This camera operates in open loop with temperature from 60 to 90 ⁰ C. No need for plate temperature control.
In the first minutes she reaches 60 ⁰ C.
Hours after it reaches approximately 90 ⁰ C.
terminals connected to 12V and current of 7A (open loop).
The prototype consists of a plate phenolite (Cu)20mmx20mm, welding, and 10m of 0.5mm Cu wire.
The design for the Cu plate is this:

After erode the plate, you need to coat it with solder and fix the wire on Cu tracks.
I've only got a prototype of 60 ⁰ C to 90 ⁰ C. In my tests so far these characteristics remained unchanged.
The cost was R$ 12.00 = $ 6.00 U.S.
Photos finals.

Camera doesn't make sense in this context, unless I'm missing something? Is this a translation goof from "cama caliente"?

Sounds like a lot of labor to add the wire....I wonder if you can find a thicker copper layer to etch instead?

Still, very cool that you have a working product. Looks like you have it sandwiched between wood and glass? 12V*7A = 84 watts of heat.

With a copper plate with thicker solve all the work. But where I live does not have. So all that work.
The measurement of maximum temperature in the timber was 70C. The flash point of this timber is 250C. I'm still doing tests in Heated Bed. Probably put an insulator therebetween.
The word camera is not used well.
I was learning English in practice, but a month ago I entered the English school.
