Z Axis movement / home issues

Post by ccavanaugh »

I am struggling with Z-Axis moments on a new H-1.1 build.

I am using Rambo with the https://github.com/johnoly99/Repetier-for-rambo firmware. It am also using Repetier Host.

End stops are set at maximum position for all axis. The end stops are wired per the Rostock max directions with wires connected to pins 1 and 2.

The X and Y axis home correctly and I have full direction control.

The Z axis will move positive only and does home, but it will not move negative towards the table before or after homing. Repetier Host accepts the move command and the Z position changes in the UI, but no physical movement occurs. Seeing that the UI responds, it almost appears as if it's a

If I invert the Z-axis movement logic, I can drive the Z-axis towards the bed without issues. This rules out mechanical binding in one direction.

I've tried both Normally open and closed wiring at the end stops and inverting logic as needed without any success.

I'm at a loss right now...

Thanks,
Craig

I switched over to a stock Marlin firmware and problem solved.

Not sure what the issue with Repetier is. I also noticed that temperature control / PID is more better in that it does not overshoot and it is much steadier.
