Hot end crashing into the bed and ruining print

I've been experiencing a weird problem. My printer prints for about 1.5 hours on a particular gcode file. Suddenly the print head slams into the heated bed and tries to push through it. Then I have to press the emergency stop button.

Here's the log file from Repetier-Host 0.95F: http://www.jbcse.com/downloads/printer-crash-log.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's the GCODE, created with KISSlicer: http://www.jbcse.com/downloads/7-18-2014.gcode" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The belts, pulleys, and cheap skates are all tight. The Gcode from CraftUnique worked without causing the problem. I'm using RAMBo v1.1 for the electronics.

I've had this happen as well. It turned out to be something weird with the .stl and how it got sliced. Thank god it didn't happen early into the print.

My guess is that it would either be that or your board is going.

Here are some videos of the problem occuring. You can see the printer move off the print and hit the bed. The printer should never try to move below the bed.

You can see in Rep-host that the Z-height does not change to zero.

I switched from KISSlicer to CraftUnique and the print finished correctly.

Could someone test the gcode from the original post using the dry run feature in Rep-Host?

I'm trying to test whether the RAMBo v1.1 electronics have a bug or if they have a physical defect.

If you have had the same problem, could you post your gocde so I can test it on my printer?

you wanna share your settings for craftunique for the use of rostock printer? i have success using it, but is there no z lift retraction for wiping? kinda big deal for me, nice program little sluggish due the GUI but pretty straight forward and worth a try.

Under options set 0,0 as "Center". I stuck with version 1.01 since some features were removed.

From looking at the video it looks like the part doesn't fit on the bed in the position you have it in (in the Repetier video), maybe that is the problem?

It was a tight fit, but it definitely fit. I ended up switching to the Smoothieboard 5x which has worked correctly without crashes.

Not to bring up an old topic, but I'm experiencing this issue with one particular print right now. I'm using mattercontrol, and I'm trying to print the x.stl file from here:

http://repables.com/r/447/

Shortly after starting to print the infill, the hot end grinds into the print, then it starts to print in the air. This happens at the exact same point in the print 3 different times. First I thought it was something I did orienting the print in mattercontrol editor. Then I printed other items from the URL above and had to reorient them as well, and those came out fine. Tried again, this time changing the orientation.... and it crashed again... same spot on the print. So I redownloaded the original x.stl file and oriented only enough to get it flat on the bed.... same thing happened again, same place on the pint.

I started to look at other software options out there to see if there is something else I can use. I downloaded Cura, but I'm not really sure how to get it running.

So right now I'm printing other things without issue from the URL above, I'm hoping to complete my enclosure this weekend.

The saga continues.
