Purple = sarcasm

Please do a board search before posting your question, many have been answered with very time consuming detail already.

I'm not sure if this is a improvement for our purposes to the same degree that smoothie is however.

Don't forget about arduino tre coming soon... Eventually we may have monitor, keyboard, and mice connected directly to our printer's controller board running Linux. Modeling or downloading things, deriving complex minima tics, etc.

While I'm a big believer in modularity, this campaign goes in the wrong direction, in my opinion. Even though he says PCI connectors are "cheap", they still have to be more expensive than pin headers. Worse yet, then you're trapped into buying/etching daughterboards to fit those PCI connectors. With the existing ramps 1.4, I have the flexibility to breadboard what I want with parts on my bench and easily connect to the pin headers. While he has a point or two, I just don't see sufficient added value to his version of the ramps board to make it worthwhile.
