Hey MTV! I'm Caleb, and this, is my printer. Step inside and take a look!
I added some LED strip segments to R2 (my ORION). Four, to be exact. Two pointed toward the print bed, and two underneath the belt assemblies just because why not. They're all hooked up to one switch, and wired to a Molex connector plugged right in to one of the spare Molex plugs on the power supply inside the printer. The switch turns the lights on and off as long as the printer itself is plugged in and switched on. This way the LEDs will last longer by keeping them turned off during a print until I need to see how the print is going.
The LED clip I printed to use for this project can be found here.
Here's the pictures:

Re: Pimp My Printer
Nice! I like how you sourced your power directly from an unused connector on the power supply, rather than "borrowing some" from another component's leads. It probably doesn't make a practical difference, but that's the way I'd do it!

Re: Pimp My Printer
Yeah, I had some extra femak molex adapters, so I wired them to the connector and plugged it in instead of soldering directly.
That way I can get in there and just unplug the connector if I want to disable them more permanently
