I was 2+ hours into a big print and the machine cut out--literally, like it died. I filpped the ON/OFF switch off, then back on and Viola, it fired up. I had had a box around EVERYTHING--including the base--which turned out to be kinda dumb. It overheated.
So, I built this:
Only one side of the new cooling box is open--opposite the fan.
I removed all covers for the base for optimum airflow in and around all components.
The heatbox has a fourth wall to use while printing.
Cooling overkill?? Nope.
Cooling overkill?? Nope.

The fan is from a space heater with a bad heater element. Perfectomundo for this application.

As per Googling steampunk, the wiki definition:GPriv wrote:The fan is from a space heater with a bad heater element. Perfectomundo for this application.

Steampunk refers to a subgenre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.
If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.
