Orion how to set factory home position

Post by todh »

As a novice I did a dumb. As I was about to print a new model, the nozzle was too high. I went to the Z position (237.4) and added 1 mm. I am unsure if this was OK or dumb. I next went the set the Z position and set it. This was dumb!! I am unable to get the unit to find the home position so I can start over to set the Z height correctly. What is the procedure to reset the factory home position? Help.

Have you tried moving the nozzle down to paper height above the glass and then doing the Z set?

The latest Rostock MAX build manual has instructions for how to calibrate your Z height.

I tried this but the nozzle wants to crash into the base when home is pressed.

Thanks for all the help. I finally got it working correctly by resetting the Z height to the proper value. I am back to work and I love this printer! :D
