M915 Stall and Sensorless Homing (M574)

Post by wepollock »

I am just reading through Duet GCode commands as a learning experience.
After this post and after the fact, I just sort of realized that DC42 is David Crocker from Duet. Wow.

I think the low hanging fruit on M915 might be collision detection should the effector hit an existing object on the bed. With collision detection, the parameters might be able to be set wide. (homing for sure M574, and then perhaps bed leveling?)

At the moment, I don't want to use my Artemis to test this feature, and I don't want to convert my Rostock V2 to Duet (which I am using to test materials and other things). Is anybody testing this feature out on the Artemis?

PS Dave.. thanks for helping me some time ago with your rotary encoder library from your metal detector project;
and the Duet and its firmware is terrific.
