HE280 Bed sensing Not working.

Post by Tonkabot »

I have the HE2800 I just added to my MAX V2. I cannot get it to calibrate, it gives no output when it hits the bed.

I believe the wiring is correct. I have the PS-ON ohmed out, I tried the T0 both ways (swappping the green and white wires)
I think the I2C is wired right, but I will be taking a scope to it soon.

Does the hot end fan just always run or can it be turned on and off.
I did see the layer fans are sometimes on and sometimes off, so That works.

I2C is not designed to work for communications OFF BOARD. I2C is does not work well with noise.

Edit: I just looked at the SE300 schematics, and interestingly it uses SPI instead of I2C. Bravo!

Do you see activity on the serial console when you tap the nozzle?

Make sure the connector is fully seated in the socket on the HE280 - one end has a tendency to lift out sometimes.

Did not see activity on console when tapping.

I moved the machine to work this morning (in -19 F weather), and now it is giving me a DEF DEF every time I turn it on (was fine yesterday)

I've reseated the connector 10 times now. no luck. I'll have to go over the wires again. I brought it in so I could use my good o-scope on it to see what was up, now I have more gremlins to chase.

What version of matter control do we need to run? I just installed the latest here - which looks nothing like the version I installed at home following the links in the documentation. Will it work with the latest?

Okay, so warming up and sitting for a while made the 'DEF' 'DEF' go away. I brought this in my car which was at -19 this morning, and I saw that DEF DEF is NORMAL for the printer when the temperature goes below some value like 15C (and -19F is WAY colder than 15C)

So back to the simple problems.

Where is the PS-ON signal going to on the RAMBO? I don't see where it's socket is on the schematic.
The PS-ON is the interrupt signal from the II2S accellerometer, right? I should see it go low every time I tap - I assume.

If i hit M260 it says: <- II2sdh accelerometer initializing...
If i hit M261 it says: <- INT PIN: 1
M262 it says: ok ????? <---------------------------------- not sure this is right I heard it should say what the threshold is.
M262S10 it says: Setting Threshold To: 10

But at no time do I get Gcode when I tap the nozzle

Yeah, if the thermistors are too cold, the software assumes something is wrong and will display "DEF".

This image: https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/i ... 64eUE.huge from the v3 assembly guide should help. I'm pretty sure the PS_ON connector is right below the main power connector.

Version of MC doesn't matter - it's just used to talk to the printer over a serial port.
