Thoughts? Did it give up after a few weeks use etc... I've had a few dells and some other brands, panasonic i think, and one off brand, and the off brand gave me about 4 times the price per used hour value than the dells did :)

I've been very pleased with mine. It has gone 4 years with no problems. And I never have problems connecting it to windows, macs or iPads. I've used a lot of them at customer sites too.

You usually get what you pay for. We've had the best luck with NEC and Panasonic models (big ones, like 10,000+ lumen models in auditoriums). For the small ones, many of them are OEM'd by 3rd party manufacturers, and it's hit or miss with no good way to know. Sanyo, Panasonic, NEC, Mitsubishi, Christe, DP are all decent companies. The Dells, Optoma, InFocus, and ones like they sell at office max are really designed to be portable more than they're designed to perform and last.

For SLA, definitely use DLP projectors instead of LCD, and go for real incandescent lamps instead of LED unless you're sure of what wavelengths you need and what ones will come out of the projector.

I don't believe that Epson makes a DLP projector.
