Nah, it's still printing the vase, and I need to tweak the default settings in Matterslice. I think .25 mm layer thickness is a little much to print in vase mode. It isn't a good representation of what the Eris can do.
What kind of speeds are you getting then?

No idea what speed it was printing at, I left the default speed settings alone,,,, in fact once it started printing, I read where I was supposed to update the configuration files in Mattercontrol. We'll see what happens tomorrow, I'll update the settings and reslice the vase at a thinner slice.

You clogged the nozzle?

Dont know how the print head is setup.. but you should be able to disconnect the bowden and heat to 240C or so.. and carefully push a length of filament thru by hand and clear the jam.. sounds like the hotend is all metal so should be easy to clear.

Would other slicers besides Mattercontrol work if I use the same custom gcode and settings? I'm thinking Simplify3D and Cura 1.5.

The nozzle isn't plugged, Just a case of the PLA jammed up in the heat break area and the liner won't come out. I'll put it back together, hook it up to the laptop, and bring it up to temperature to remove the liner.

It happened about 7 hours in on the vase print,,,, I had updated the printer config files in mattercontrol, set the layer height to .15, increased perimeter speed to 40 mms, and selected vase mode. I assume there shouldn't be any need for retracts in vase mode with matterslice,,,, assuming they spiral up like some of the other slicers.

I love that the first instructions are visible before you even open the box :P

That being said, it's really going to be cool seeing what all you folks do with them, and how they work. Especially you folks without another printer.

Interestingly, it connects to matter control but won't do anything else.

Mac, when you flip the switch, does it do anything besides turn on the lights?

Lack of a driver perhaps? Do I need to download the RAMB0 driver?

Yes, that is a Rambo board in the printer, only a little smaller then that used in the bigger printers.

Is the printer recognized by matter control properly? Could you screenshot mattercontrol, and the G code terminal (under view, terminal)? I would think that if Mattercontrol can connect, then windows is properly recognizing the rambo as a device using serial over USB, meaning you don't need a different driver (Of course, I assume windows. You may be using linux or OS X, which don't ever need drivers)

Here it is. Just keeps cycling through the same lines.

Windows 10 OS

I did update the driver. No luck there. I'm trying a reboot.

That is outside of my pay grade.
My initial problem was that it didn't connect. Once I set it to Com 3, it connected, and I was able to run the calibration cube.

Very odd. Take a look at the connection to the hotend, and the circuitry there. It May be the the accelerometer isn't connecting properly due to a loose connection. Beyond that, I would call seeme support. Unfortunately, no one knows a whole lot about the accelerometer yet, and that appears to be the root of the issue.

Funny you should say that... It wasn't readily visible but a plug on the hot end wasn't in all the way. It just came to life.
Then I come back here and that's exactly your advice.

It's printing the calibration cube now. Now that it's running, my question is what do I do with the download files on the main page?

Pretty sure the answer is nothing. Those are intended for the Orion and the Max. The only things that might be useful are the material profiles.

Anyways, yeah, serendipity happens. Usually problems are cause by lose connections, especially for factory assembled machines (After all, they test them before the leave, so something occurring during shipping is the only realistic issue). I remembered that Part-daddy was chatting about the connector on the hotend, and I though that might be the issue after seeing your G-code terminal.

There's actually a download on the Eris purchase page for the machine. I have it, I'm just not sure where to put the files.

For example, there are files to load and unload filament. I'm not sure how to use them.

To run the calibration.txt file in mattercontrol, I renamed it calibrtion.gcode. I assume the other .txt files will need to be treated the same.

OK guys, we're working on the documentation side of things here. If you go back and look at the first post in this topic, you'll find i just added a youtube video on how to setup and add the default files to mattercontrol for the eris. Take a look and comment back and let us know if you find any hiccups there.

When replacing the nozzle,, Is it the same procedure as the E3d where after you install it that you preheat the hotend and tighten it again before printing?
