Best option for Eris Display/Controller/SD card?

So, what's the current thoughts for adding a display/controller/SD card to an Eris?
Among other things, it would be nice to be able to simply adjust z=0 like we do on the Rostock.
Of course, printing directly from an SD card would be very useful,
Any touch screen functionality recommended?
Do most displays have a small speaker (I don't think gcode beeps can be executed on the stock Eris, but I could be mistaken)?

Thanks

I modeled and printed an enclosure, and used a SeeMeCNC smart controller. You just have to make a couple of configuration changes to enable it.

Mac, I saw your post from back in May... is it working well?
Any other approaches been tried since then?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

The last piece of the puzzle was to get the hotend to home after hitting the reset button.

Mac,

If it ain't broke, keep pushing it! <veg>

Where did you order the display and/or adapters? I don't see it on the SeeMeCNC web site.

You got to hunt for it.,,,, https://www.seemecnc.com/collections/pa ... controller
I did order mine through Ultimaker
I don't believe you need the adapter board with the mini RamBo.

Mac, thanks... I ordered one from SeeMeCNC.
I will decide if the included enclosure is sufficient, or if I will print your design.

Cool, When I get around to it, I'll post up my modified firmware.

Mac,

I have the new display installed, but not configured yet.

The new firmware code is different from the code back in May.

Line 276 #define SDSUPPORT 0
Line 277 #define FEATURE_CONTROLLER 0

It looks like it's Line 277 that needs to be changed from 0 to 13 to enable the display.
What about Line 276? Does that need to be changed to enable the SD card?

I have attached my current configuration.h file

I made the two code changes, and it appears to be working... now on to some testing

Here's my copy,,, Beware the temperature limit is increased. Other changes was reversing the knob rotation, and having the carriages home when the power is turned on, and if the reset button is hit.

Mac,

I will try your config file... but I may have another (possibly related) problem

Apparently no good deed goes unpunished...
For some reason my calibration is now way out of whack... it's possible that when I was plugging in the controller wires, I may have disturbed some other wiring.

When I run G29, it keeps looping over and over again, and doesn't seem to end.
Also, if I recall correctly (and I may be mistaken), one of the taps should be in the center of the "Z" tower, and now it's off to the left (closer to the left rail of the Z tower, if looking at it from the front)

I will try the Delta config wizard again, but only after I get some input as to whether there is a hardware or wiring issue.

I will try Mac's config file, after I get some feedback

Here's a little video... am I mistaken or is something quite amiss here?

And you did update the firmware to the Developers version, "20161209"?

Mac,

The Dev firmware is an improvement over the public build that JJ had me download.
The accelerometer probing is working properly again (it probes near the center of the z tower again... I think some offsets got munged... fortunately not a wiring issue)
The normal calibration got me close, but still too low near the Y tower.. so I am runnng the delta configuration process to try to dial it in.
Things are looking promising.
