can you use the SD card to print? This sounds similar to what happens to me when I disconnect the USB cable. From that I am guessing that your Serial is cutting out.

No problem, I am happy to contribute to the community.

Let me know how it works I made some guesses regarding tolerances. With the acrylic enclosure I made on my printer, my printer calibration has been rock solid. So, I will not likely be installing these on my own machine.

I have drawn up a knob that you can press fit and/or glue on to a 6-32 socket head Cap screw. I used Mcmaster Part number 92185A165 to model the knob

Are you using Repetier host? There is a tab called 'Manual Control' Click that, scroll down a bit and you will see some buttons to control the heating and feeding of the extruder manually.

Also, sweet talking to machines cant hurt, you should try that first next time!

I have been working on an enclosure for my Rostock Max. I noticed that a 12x24" sheet of acrylic fits rather nicely between the skates and really leaves a 1.75" gap on the top and bottom. I had been having this same issue. I was and am still using slicr. I switched from 0.2mm layer height to 0.157mm and the problem went away.
