Is printing in metal possible?

First read this thread. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/479905-Metal-Injection-Molded-Knife-Blades So if someone made a filament out of those pellets we could print in metal......after it was fired at 2500 degrees F. Good thing it's easy to oversize something by 20% in my slicer ...

Re: Desert Extrusions Nylon

Keep in mind that FDM printed things are food safe, ONCE. Bacteria can lurk in the spaces between the layers and once exposed to food/water/etc. it's no longer considered "food safe". g. I'm not going to argue with you about that. I was making really nice 5 micron filter caps with slic3r. Switched ...

Re: Desert Extrusions Nylon

So we bought these really nice reusable bottles made by Aladdin. They unscrew at the bottom of the top bell for cleaning/putting ice in. The problem was the center posts of the caps crack and get pulled down the neck of the bottle. I.E. The silver cap. Teal colored cap is cracked also. Hmmm ...

Desert Extrusions Nylon

image.jpg So I read the entire "weed trimmer" line thread several times and gleaned a lot of useful info. I am making beautiful blue prints with it. I love the stuff. Cost per pound is very reasonable. Yes you have to dry it and keep it dry, but these forums gave me all the knowledge I needed for ...

Re: I need Help (with Pictures) Solved "ish"

Hmmm. In the support layers settings, do you have the 'raft layers' set to anything but 0? Putting a 1 in there will raise your print and put a single raft layer in there. Thank you both for you suggestions. McSlappy called it. I had a 2 in the raft layers category. I removed it and the problem ...

No print first layer (with Pictures) Solved "ish"

I have been having a problem with prints sticking the first layer for a while now. As I have been using a brim, the reason was not immediately obvious. The first layer of the print has the skirt and brim. The "print" is starting on the second layer. (see Picts). I have been through my slic3r ...

Re: Printed AirSoft gun

I'm going to start small and make the bits for the bipod first. I look at this as a challenge. It will push me and my R-Max. First I have to solve my moisture problem. When I free extrude ABS, it looks like I have Rice crispies in the filament. PLA prints fine, but I don't think it would be a good ...

Re: Rostock MAX PTC Fittings Broken

We use SMC and Festo fittings at work. They are used primarily for connecting air lines to air cylinders. They hold 0.6MPa (87psi) cycling 100,000+ times a day. I've never seen one fail. So after my 5:00am spaghetti floor pile I sourced some on Amazon. SMC KQ2H04-M5A Brass Push-to-Connect Tube ...

Re: SeeMeCNC screwdriver

I liked them so much I decided to make 5. Actually 5 spread out around my build plate was to allow cooling between layers as I was using ABS. ANYWAY, I went to my daughters concert and found this on my return. I hate this ABS so much I almost let it finish.

Re: Offer - Botfeeder Filament Review

So how did it print for you? I ordered a roll of silver from botfeeder.ca. I was very happy with boxing and shipping. My average diameter was very tight. I measure the same spot twice, 90° out to each other incase the filament is oval. My roll proved to be very round. Unfortunately my prints have ...

Thanks Cope413. I guess I'll use the money you saved me to buy one of your filament dry boxes. Are you still selling them?
