Re: Diagnose my cube (that sounded dirty)

Sorry, I'll eventually figure out the details I need to include in order for folks to help. I was using slic3r and the config from the Rostock manual. Thanks for the input! I'll mess around with the feed rate a little and see what happens. Seems like there is a lot of initial trial and error lol. My ...

Re: Calibration issues

Thanks Gene! All these g-codes are like learning a new language. I actually hand jammed them into the eeprom through the config and they seemed to take but I've written that one down in my list of important commands.

Learned more in two days that in the previous 6 months tuning... what fun!

Diagnose my cube (that sounded dirty)

Some nagging issues remain, any thoughts on where I should tweak to solve? Odd squigglies going on What looks like flashing or melting around the bottom and on the side Some separation in ...

Re: Newb from NC

Top plate was on and it probably was calibrated when it was shipped, but it also arrived with a hole in the side. Apparently it took a pretty big hit on the trip since there was a hole in the side and the inner fiberboard protection was cracked all the way through. Looks like somebody nicked it with ...

Re: Newb from NC

Done and very helpful! Thanks. I got moving in the right direction. The print bed is now much more level and the first layer is going down well. Just got done printing one of the planetarys gears from thingiverse as a test and it actully came out okay. More work to be done. I appreciate the links ...

Re: Newb from NC

Thanks! I have a lot to learn. This is my first foray into 3d Printing.

The Orion is really nice out of the box, but I really wish there were more... well any really... documentation on how to operate the thing. I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to calibrate the thing.

Calibration issues

Greetings all, Just unboxed the printer yesterday and am impressed, however one or two nagging issues are creeping in. The first prints were great, but the extruder nozzle was dragging on the build platform and the prints were short a layer or two as it scraped the nozzle on the glass. So I ...
