Re: Cura 14.02 RC-1

Any thoughts on Cura Eaglezoar? Mind sharing your settings for just getting it setup to slice for the Rostock Max?

Re: Can't connect via USB any more

@Eric, As far as software changes go to ensure E1 instead of E0 is used (if that ends up being the issue+solution), am I making firmware changes and reflashing the Rambo.. or just changes in Rep-Host? EDIT: nevermind, yes, firmware change after doing a simple forum search.. sorry about asking a ...

Re: Can't connect via USB any more

Eric, Correct, ESD all the way when I touched it. Last night after I posted this I remembered I could use the other extruder port, and your confirming that made me so happy. I'll try one of the other motors in the current extruder port to verify port or motor damage and will go from there. Thanks ...

Can't connect via USB any more

Long story short, I had to take apart the EZstruder due to a weird filament jam. Got it all back together, connected and turned the RoMax back on. I reached to add filament into the EZstruder and got a shock on the motor casing. I didn't think anything of it, not thinking it'd carry down and do any ...

First mostly completed test hollow cube

So, I got my Rostock MAX assembly completed yesterday and figured I'd post up the best of my prints of the test hollow cube. Here's my G-Code (I tried from both Cura and Slic3r, Cura was definitely the winner with algorithmic choices made, but the success came from slic3r): ; generated by Slic3r 0.9 ...

Daftscience,

Still using Octoprint? If so, what x/y/z movement speed settings did you use? Have you had success with octoprint on your romax?

Re: Upgrading the stock hot end...

You guys do know that there is in fact a screw in thermistor available right? Do a search on RP-onelabs and you'll find what you are after. I like em alot. However you can simply make one yourself too. Just get brass motherboard standoffs and either ceramic paste (better) or jbweld (not as better ...

Re: Nexus 7 dock for my VW CC

Jimustanguitar, I agree, it's generally been lots of using the calipers and some tracing and adjustments, etc to get the model done. VW won't give me (understandably so) their cad/dimensions for their double din headunits either :( Anyway, yeah I enjoy the Nexus 7 (this is the 2012 model with the ...

Re: Nexus 7 dock for my VW CC

Barry, I have an aftermarket Alpine headunit behind the tablet, I want to print a shelf/mount for the headunit too. right now i have it sitting level on top of an empty screw/nut container like you'd get from home depot.. The Alpine deck just powers the stock speakers, while the Nexus 7 connects via ...

Nexus 7 dock for my VW CC

So, I'll admit that all of these prints were done on our makerbot replicator 2 at work, HOWEVER, I'm in the middle of assembling my own Rostock Max to be able to finish the tweaked prints on my own time... With that out of the way, on to the show! TL;DR I had originally created a fiberglass + bondo ...

Re: Preferred CAD/Modeling apps for OSX users?

Hey thanks @Batteau62. I just signed up for Honeycomb's beta. Looks promising, the next generation of TinkerCAD basically. I didn't realize how many cad/modeling/etc packages that Autodesk now owns. There are many on their product offerings page that I remember using in high school and college that ...

Re: Preferred CAD/Modeling apps for OSX users?

Thanks for the responses so far fellas! I feel like I should just learn FreeCAD as it seems to be pretty well user supported (with irc chan on freenode too). I am curious though, to hear of successes/failures/deficiencies with Autodesk's Inventor Fusion if anyone cares to elaborate. The reviews for ...

Preferred CAD/Modeling apps for OSX users?

Howdy all, Coming from TinkerCAD, I'm ready to put my big boy pants on and get into a REAL CAD/modeling app. I'm finding out REAL quick that the offerings for OSX users that want a native solution (e.g. not running the app in a VM, wine derivative, or boot camp) are SUPER slim. I would like an app ...

Curious if there are any other locations to order RMax compatible-stepper motor dampeners in the US? Anyone have any extra they'd like to part with for a new (don't even have my printer yet) RMax owner?
