Re: Ball Screw Conversion
I changed the steps per mm, now it seems like the motors don't have enough torque. I had no problem homing it before the change but I couldn't set the new height because it would be in negative numbers before I reached the build plate. I've been busy since I first posted but hope to get back to this ...

I realized that the size of the screws might be an issue after I received them.

Re: Ball Screw Conversion
Thanks guys, I'll try those modifications and let you know how it goes. I made the changes because I was having issues with the pulleys and I'd like to increase my printing speed and accuracy. It was this or I throw the printer out my window. I was worried that the motors might have issues keeping ...

Ball Screw Conversion
Hi Guys,
I have removed my pulleys and rigged ball screws onto my Rostock Max.
I've got the hardware done and now I need to make changes to the software.
Anyone know what I need to change in the firmware?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Inconsistent Layering
Hi Nylocke,
The original thermistor was the model that comes with the latest E3D. I replaced it with a model that has a larger glass bead but same thin contacts the brand is Riorand. It flows perfectly fine, do you think I'm running too hot?

Inconsistent Layering
I have been printing parts for a project and I just recently had to change my Extruders' Thermistor. Now I can't get a part to print with consistent layers. I get drooping along the edges and in the interior support.
Has anyone else seen this and know how to fix it?
Thanks,
Ron

Onyx Bed Issue
My Onyx bed isn't heading up. The power output connector on my Rambo was damaged recently and I just replaced it. I'm getting voltage out of the replacement and a red LED lights up on the Rambo when I power up the heated bed, but the Onyx is not heading up and the LED isn't turning on. Is there a ...

Re: Filament stops feeding
I just added an E3D v6 hotend to my RM and I'm having a similar issue. I can manually push the t-glase through the hotend and the extruder will feed it, but they don't work together, the extruder seems to slip on it.

Re: Buy A Rostock Max for Cheap
I am looking to sell my Rostock Max.
I'm selling it for $1000 and it comes with a second cold extruder, an extra LCD adapter and an extra Nema 17 motor.
I bought 2 E3D hotends that I assembled but haven't adapted them to the RM yet, I'm selling them for $100 together.

Bed Levelling Issue
Hi Everyone, I'm having a real problem getting the printer to print on an even level. I go through the entire process layed out in the new manual. I've reset the height of the tower and I go through the entire process of calibrating turning on and off the Eeprom. No matter how many times I adjust ...

I ordered a new one and I did find that the rod coming out of the motor was so loose it fell out. I'll have to see if I can liquid weld it back in.

I did use thread lock when I built the printer, I'm going to go buy IPA so I can remove the set screws. It's definitely something inside the motor.

X Tower Motor Issue
Hi Guys, I was printing a calibration cube today and out of nowhere the X tower stopped working and my hotend is melting it's way through the cube. I checked the cheapskate and the belt. Eventually I took the motor out and tried running the home command and discovered that the motor at the bottom of ...

Re: LCD not working
I'm having a different problem with my LCD than the original poster. When I turn my Rostock Max on the screen comes on and the start up info appears, then the nozzle and bed readings appear, after a few seconds it looses all of the text but still appears to be active(still glowing.) Then I begin to ...

I run the extruder at 200C and the heated bed at 110C.
I was just thinking that I might need to tighten the drive belts.
