Re: Dual extrusion how-to
Hi! I know there is a re-designed platform posted but I was wondering if anyone knew WHY the stock platform rotates slightly? I'd love to fix this minor but frustrating problem without replacing all my arms and completely rebuilding my end effector. I'm using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:214536 ...

Re: You wouldn't download a car...
Swiping source code is beyond the pale. To me that's not piracy, it's industrial espionage and should be prosecuted accordingly. g. Absolutely my opinion. I have once seen one of our softwares running on more than 50 machines at a facility in portugal. Each licence for minimum EUR 3.500,00 per seat ...

Re: Rostock Max assembly
Hey Geneb, ups, my fault. Of course square to the base (my head was probably still in bed while I wrote my previous post). I've contacted Smcnc and got a very quick reply from John. He confirmed my idea of putting the towers square to the *Base* :-). So I did it this way. The result was good enough ...

Re: Rostock Max assembly
When I built mine I encountered the same problem (see the pictures below). I decided not to rely on the both plates beeing exactly the same, but on the heated bed beeing exactly 90° to the towers. This is ok as long as the circular alignment is right (which it was in my case). Nevertheless I sanded ...

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
I'm using Festo QSM-M5-4 fittings (P/N: 153304). These are probably not the cheapest, but the quality is outstanding. You can get them in the UK and U.S.

Re: Vertical Banding Issue
I had those problems with various types of printers. My Kossel, with Kevlar lines instead of timing belts, seemed to be immune to that effect. Well, not totally but the surfaces always looked less "wavy". I did some experiments with the RMax and exchanged the idler bearings with some special parts ...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Yes - You would think that! but I can't see anything like that in the eeprom settings list. Nothing Horizontal, no radius.. Me again :-) Did you wipe your EEPROM when changing from marlin to repetier? To be sure the INIT-Run of 0.91 created all values and pointer correctly do the following. 1. Set ...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Hey Banana, I suggest to set Extr PID Max Val to 240 (this is ok for the SeemeCNC dual-resistor as well as for heating cartridges). The same for the heated bed (here you can got up to 255). 20.00 mm/s is a good value for the jerk settings 3.000.00 mm/s² is a conservative value for your X/Y/Z ...

Re: Arduino based controller board (Duet)
Ok. I see...
So it boils down into porting repetier (which contains some routines in assembler) vs. 8-Bit AtMega (which will run without changing repetier).
Are you running the SD8825 in 1/32 microstepping?

Arduino based controller board (Duet)
Hey, not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but has anyone already experience with this board(s): http://blog.think3dprint3d.com/2013/12/Duet-Arduino-Due-compatible-3DPrinter-controller.html The thing is that I'm planning to implement a triple or quad extruder (Kraken in this case). Dual extrusion ...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Hmm... Before you put up Repetier, one more experiment (If you're willing to do so): Here's a picture of one of my testcubes I'm printing whith every new spool of filament (this is from PLA): Foto 04.02.14 22 40 50.jpg As you can see, the corners are fairly round at the bottom where the nozzle temp ...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Hey Banana! I hope you didn't atomize your RMax already. :-) If you did not, here are some thoughts in the early hours. Maybe they are helpful. Besides my RMax I have some (cartesian-style) printers running. All of them with homebrew Arduino-Shields and with RAMPS-alike A4988 (pololu) based stepper ...

Aaand... here comes my humble contribution.
I've designed a dual extrution mount with integrated cooling. It is for use with the stock seemecnc hot ends.

Re: Slicer errors?
Hi! I get this message after provoking an error in slic3er. Seems that RepHost has changed its kind of error handling. The faulty part isn't RepHost but a unsuccessfull slic3r session. Strange: objects/settings which couldn't be sliced with the command-line edition of slic3r (which is used by ...

Hello and Moin! from Germany
Well, I got my Rmax in december. And this cute little thing is printing and printing like there's no tomorrow. :-) I made some changes in order to use it withdual extruders. One thing that I made can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:214536 . It is a dual extruder mount with integrated ...
