Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Supposed to be getting it tomorrow. Have setup install date and will definitely keep everyone abreast of the situation. In other news I just got back from installing Butte College's Orion Delta unit and it came pre-loaded w/ 0.91 and seems to be the new Rev of the hardware kit, (Includes power ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
May I ask why you had to change the language from german to english? Well, scratch that. viewtopic.php?f=60&t=4011 is where I got the fork. /int2str Explains my german issue. But ...this wasn't really the issue. :-\ It definitely is EEPROM/hardware as I've flashed the EEPROM countless times and ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Well, For starters, you're not using our version of repetier that's already configured for the orion's, otherwise you wouldn't have to change languages. I would say, run the eeprom_clear sketch, and upload THIS firwmare https://github.com/seemecnc/Repetier-091-ORION That is the one that we flash on ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
You really need to talk to John about why you do not have an Eprom. You certainly sound as if you know what you are doing and have done everything any of us would and still cannot access the Eprom. John can and will help you but reaching him via this forum is not usually possible. support@seemecnc ...

Hey John! Thanks for the ping. I live about 72 hours west of Chicago or I would have taken you up on the offer ;) (Chico) Writing this after a 6 hour stint @ Chico High. By now I'm probably starting to look a bit unprofessional. Been here since 7:30am. Giving up & Going home for now :( I'm now ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
I won't be able to go back out to the Lab to "patch" it until next week, but it was working when I left. The students were printing their files :) I really have NO clue what could have caused the Z direction going backwards (the original problem in this post), which completely disappeared after a ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Hey Eaglezsoar, I didn't contact them directly as I was in the middle of a lab and didn't really have the facilities for that. Dead zone/no reception or landline anyways. Besides, it was definitely a great opportunity to learn as they say. We all learned a lot and it was great for the kids to be ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
All good now. I'll have to check to see if the EEPROM becomes disabled in .0091 in the version I have for some reason, says it happened right after the upload of new firmware. It would no longer set z. I got everything working by manually calculating the z and changing it in config.h. Since that ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Yep,
Wrote EEPROM clear and reflashed firmware multiply. Still not able to save the new Z height for 0, nor do the sd card files print.
Not sure how this is possible with a fresh install :-\

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Progress!?
Prints now in the correct direction, but is slamming into the build plate, with the vase.gco file included on the card.
I noticed there is no longer a menu option for Setting the Z height.
Any suggestions would be great...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Wiped it again, found EEPROM_MODE was = to 1 so it was using the EEPROM and overriding my settings somehow...no idea what happened but I've reflashed it disabling EEPROM and using default settings from the repetier /orion branch 0.91 firmware and it homes itself correctly again...now just trying to ...

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Nope this didn't work
Now my mid tower bearing plunges down which forces the gantry towards me outside the printing limits.
Not really sure what to do on this one. It homes just fine with the default settings, but printing is backwards.

Re: Orion G code Z direction backwards?
It seems that the unit is trying to lower a build plate (which it doesn't have)
Can't find anywhere in repetier or cura that shows an Invert Z direction or any sort of disable build platform. Ideas?

Orion G code Z direction backwards?
Here @ my local Highschool trying to setup the Orion. We have everything set but the G code that is being crunched seems to be trying to print upside down. Brim for instance, is above the print, with the "top" being below the build plate. Instead of incremending the Z height upwards, it is trying to ...

Re: New Orion: Level Sequence?
On a high note; The orion is indestructible!!! ...and now perfectly leveled (Upgraded from "GOOD") Sent a G1 X-700 Y-40 Z0 command at 4am. Seriously, I suggest having your cat recheck your gcode if you write it at this hour. Tried putting the gantry about 5 feet to my left and behind me. The ...

Hello Again, I've been at it for quite awhile again..progress! I have successfully: Flashed the firmware using arduino using the EEPROM>Clear command then uploaded Repetier 0.91 Orion pkg using Github. The versioning on the LCD has definitely changed and is up to date. I have not touched anything ...

Re: Soft ABS after vapour bath
Remember that the amount of "solvent" that is turned into gas is directly dependent on how much liquid acetone you begin with. The vapor will continue to "intensify" or gain stripping power until it re condenses into a liquid. I'd suggest trying cottonballs soaked in acetone as opposed to a big pool ...

Re: New Orion: Level Sequence?
THanks! I have definitely been going through the Rostock manual as well which is where I found out about the lensing/doming issue. When I go in and set P1 P2 P3, are those referring to certain towers? Because I just arbitrarily assigned the lower left to be P1, mid top to be P2, and right to be P3 ...

New Orion: Level Sequence?
Hello! Have a couple issues I'm trying to solve as they're a tad tricky. I just got the Orion Delta and am trying to print. Printed a few test files flawlessly over and over just to show off the printer. But now I've gone through the complete setup of repetier. I am able to successfully slice my ...
