Re: Perimeter-Gap
The retraction is 2.5mm, same as it always has been. About printing with Slicer I've never been able to get Slicer to print right with MatterControl. It puts the object center way off the bed, so only a portion of the object tries to print. The preview shows it centered. I try edit and Arrange, and ...

Perimeter-Gap
I have a RostockMAx V1, with updated V2 arms. I am now using MatterControl to control the printer and as the slicer. For the most part I like it better then Slicer. It has been printing nearly flawlessly (it is 2 1/2 yrs old). But, just recently I have had quality issues that I haven't been able to ...

Re: In Mid-Print-goes real slow, then jumps and crashes
I will order the new SeeMeCNC arms, after my next paycheck... As far as printing large objects, I print close to the outer edges frequently enough. I think it is just that the one arm has progressively got worse, and is now frozen on the axle rod. But, what retracted travel speeds do others use ...

Re: In Mid-Print-goes real slow, then jumps and crashes
Hey, both CRPerryJr and ULTIMATE 3D JEDDI, thanks for the replies. First, yes, one arm, at the cheap-skate carriage, is seized up. One of the 'bearings', or whatever you call them, is frozen onto the axle-rod, such that the axle rod turns with the bearing. By the looks of it, that has been an issue ...

In Mid-Print-goes real slow, then jumps and crashes
I have the Rostock Max v1 - been happily using it for over 2 years. Not sure if this is a hardware issue (rambo going out) or an issue with Slic3r/Repetier ? I am printing a number of parts, about 250mm front end to end 25 layers high (.25mm per layer). Several times on nearly every layer i hear the ...

Re: Bowden - Extruder-HotEnd issues
EagleSoar Your advice helped out. I added just one thin washer and I could feel the difference in the tension (I have 2 extruders to test it against - , i 'was' going to try to add a dual head config, but, well, i never did. At some point i would like to print 2 colors, i'll save Q's on that for ...

Bowden - Extruder-HotEnd issues
Hey, I got my Rostock Max last Jan/Feb and have used it a lot. I've gone through ~ 10+ 1 kg reels of ABS, and around 5 of PETG (most of which i bought from China ) - and a few reels of PLA. But, from day one I've had constant issues with the heads/extruder. I tend to be an impatient person and so I ...

Re: EZ-Struder Random Glitch - Kickback
MHackney I've seen the posts on "slipping". but that and "skipped steps" doesn't really describe what mine is doing. It isn't skipping or slipping, it kicks back suddenly by 1/8-1/4 turn. Maybe it's just the wording that is used, maybe they all mean the same thing? 1-2 But how low or how high should ...

EZ-Struder Random Glitch - Kickback
The RMax is my first printer, got it up and running in Feb, and since day one I've had this problem with the EZ-Struder and haven't pinned it down yet what it is. I would like to know if others have had the same issue, and what to do to resolve it. By kicking back I mean that the filament is ...

Re: What is the max speed you have attained?
I'm fairly new also, got my RMax set up in Feb, and, I've been having issues with the EZstruder that I haven't pinned down yet. I have only printed in PLA, Nylon 645 and t-glase, I haven't printed in ABS yet. I haven't got a usable part from nylon yet, mainly due to trying to print larger parts and ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
dpmari I haven't done a filament calibration yet, but have measured the filament a number of times (average 1.67). But, it seems like 'something' is getting adjusted when the home sw was glitching, because it definitely shifted the head over. When it was printing, before i re-routed the wires, I hit ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
NEW UPDATE OFFSET RESOLVED Sorry its taking me long time to get back. But, I've been getting somewhere (And it doesn't look like my posts are displaying in right order in the thread - at least not on my system) A couple thoughts: 1) There have been problems reported where the end-stop wires receive ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
UPDATE: Sorry Neurascenic, no pictures on the belt position because I ran other tests and am narrowing things down -- a little I stand up a battery on the platform (after it draws perimeter line) to where the extruder plate just touches the battery when it prints the outer perimeter of the box, in ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
Hey everyone, thanks for the help. Other things in LIFE came up and I couldn't keep on this till now. Update: I tried to increase current, set to 195,195,195,200 the next print was 'better' there were no longer major shifts, but, now each layer is slightly shifted about the same, so the block still ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
Eaglezsoar Thanks for the reply. I looked up a thread on "Maybe Belt / Motor Skipping" and i don't think it is the same problem. I don't hear or detect any belt teeth slipping Or if it is, i am not sure other then listening for it, how to detect it. I ran a test G-Code script that was in that thread ...

Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
I'm attaching photo of first-print of calibration block. It started out 'ok', first layer is a bit too thick, then seems 'ok' for a few layers, but then layers started to get offset - angling toward between the X and Y towers. I am did calibration, got x y z and center all equal distance, can slide ...

Re: Repetier 091 for Rostock MAX now available
Got It. I Hope. I adjusted the HORIZONTAL_RADIUS (wound up at 129.5) and readjusted xyz and all axis and center are again perfect. But, is that right? Do we now skip the PRINTER_RADIUS in configuration.h and just do the calibration using the EEPROM HORIZONTAL Radius ? Makes it a lot easier if that ...

Re: Repetier 091 for Rostock MAX now available
Can someone help me out calibrating a new machine. I got a new Rostock and I installed 0.91 (not .83 that Gene's manual goes by). I calibrated the X Y Z adjusting the PRINTER_RADIUS and got the center and all calibrated perfectly with the EEPROM_MODE = 0. When I was done I set EEPROM_MODE back to 1 ...
