Re: Rostock Max V2 with .35 Nozzle?
What speeds are you finding work best with the .35 nozzle? I was planning on installing mine this weekend and would love to try out some PLA to compare it with my .5 stock nozzle. Printed on another machine with a .4 nozzle and got really nice results so I can't wait to see what this will do for me!

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Installed the "new" threaded thermistor from Ebay, modified the configuration.h file and updated the firmware. Still having the same issue during the Autotune test... This is a video of the LCD as the autotune test heats up the hot end... at around 140C everything goes crazy. Prior to this, I had a ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Looks like a board problem with Rambo, wonder if clearing the eeprom would help. Thanks for the suggestion. I did clear the board and reloaded it again. Gave me the same results. Started taking the head apart... again and noticed one heating resistor lead was close to the head so I bent it back and ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Really too bad that there isn't a better way to protect those things being that they are so delicate... Checked my configuration.h file and it was already set for #define EXT0_TEMPSENSOR_TYPE 97 Just ran the autotune again, got to about 180C then jumped to a -18C then back up to 80C then started ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
I did do the tape method and got several very nice prints. When I powered up today I couldn't get the hot end to heat up to 225C without it failing and then giving me a -C reading. Checked the wires and nothing was wrong. I bought one of the other thermistors figuring I'd get a second extruder to ...

That is really cool! It had to take a lot of time to do but worth it in the end. Great job! Thanks! Been trying to see what works best on my machine using ABS, so far these settings are doing well... I haven't played with the layer thickness yet and am still experimenting with the supports and ...

Re: CGBobio's V2 build
Been playing with settings on my V2 and various ways of slicing the models up for printing. Using 3dstudio max I cut this skull just above the nasal cavity and was able to print it with no supports by inverting the bottom half.

Printing a little toy figure in ABS for a friend at about 4" tall with supports for the first time. Honeycombed the infill and added supports with rafting to keep them stuck to the base.

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Just an update on the thermistor problem... got my new one from SeeMeCNC and installed it with the kapton tape method. Everything going smoothly and first prints look very promising. Other than the PID autotune with the new PEEK fan installed, PID autotune for the bed, the proper Z-height and ...

Re: CGBobio's V2 build
The end of my first day printing saw 2 prints of the PEEK fan, 1 print of the Layer fan and a replacement gear I modeled in 3D Studio Max for my weedeater. Still have some fine tuning to do, but the ABS I bought from Inventables.com has been doing great right out of the box. I upped the temp for the ...

if your going to use that style, i sugest insted of the tubing, just spread the leads, and use kapton tape 4.PNG Good idea. I was just following the documentation since it was my first printer build. Figured it would be easy since I've assembled over 12 RC Helicopters... Problem is my big hands ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Almost at wits end with this... I've wiped the RAMBo at least 10 times now and reloaded, recalibrated etc only to get the dreaded def/0 popping up just before I print. I've checked all my wires just as many times and even with a meter. I've reseated the thermistor in the head and got really good ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
So yesterday I decided to reseat the thermistor since nothing else seems to have been a long term fix... Today everything seems to be going well. I ran through all the setup steps, ran the PID auto tune, calibrated the Z-height and even got the filament feeding. So now I'm slicing up the PEEK fan ...

Re: Rostock V2 thermistor fail
Spoke too soon... it seems that the Mac Version of Repetier doesn't like to communicate well with my printer... going to have to try it out on a PC to see if it works. I got past the bed and hot end auto tune and then to the extruder section and now Repetier won't heat the hot end or bed by putting ...

Just finished completely re-wiring the hot end itself with a new quick release. Either my moving it around or excessively taping it this time worked! Got a good temp reading and the PID auto tune is working on t0 like it should. Thanks for all the suggestions and your help!
