Re: Faster Bed II

Thank you for the reply! I decided to use the 24VDC approach due to concerns over physical mounting challenges and it is working well. I have printed a couple of projects now using ASA filament purchased from 3dxTech.comwith excellent results. The HE280 hot end and 24 volt bed achieve the respective ...

Faster Bed II

Hello Everyone, I own a Max V2 with a HE280 hot end and have been printing with an ASA filament for an outdoor application that requires a 110C bed temperature. Getting the bed up to temperature is really, really, slow... I have read the last couple topics in this forum with some care and the focus ...

Re: Where do I set the Extruder Temperature?

I hadn't thought to look at the G-code, great idea! The g-code contains M104 and M190 commands with the old temperature. There are only two M104 commands. The 1st near the start of the print to set the temp and another near the end to set the temp to zero. I have been using the default MatterSlice ...

Re: Where do I set the Extruder Temperature?

Hi Dale, I am running Matter Control 1.6.1 as well. I edited the profile, reopened and verified the changes in the profile, selected a different profile, verified a change in the settings menu, selected the edited profile and verified that the new profile values are displayed in the settings menu ...

Where do I set the Extruder Temperature?

Hello Everyone, I am using a MAX V2 printer with a HE280 hot end and Matter Control v1.6. I decided that I wanted to raise the extruder temperature a bit and seem to be struggling with the process. I can certainly change the settings in the Controls panel, but this gets overwritten when you start a ...

Filament choices for outdoor applications

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help me understand the tradeoffs between filament materials for outdoor use. I am thinking about factors like sunlight, moisture, temperature, strength and my ability to print the material on a Rostock Max V2 with a HE280 extruder.

Post HE280 Upgrade questions...

I have a Rostock MAX V2 that I purchased as a kit a couple years ago. It has been upgraded with the injection molded skates and a ball joint platform. I swapped the original ATX power supply with a 650 watt supply and I am using a fablam sheet on my build surface. With careful alignment I have ...

Layer 2 Delamination

I am working with PLA and am having a delamination problem between layer 1 and layer 2. I use the purple glue stick method with my Rostock MAX v2. With the Z height and stops adjusted correctly I am getting good adhesion with Layer 1. But when layer 2 is extruded it doesn't adhere well. Subsequent ...

Re: Hello from Central Virginia!

Ok, time for a few Noob questions... Is there an operators guide somewhere that I missed? After printing several parts the disappearing purple glue tends to build up a bit. Should it be cleaned off and reapplied from scratch periodically? How often, every time I print something? How, soapy water in ...

Re: Hello from Central Virginia!

Hello Everyone, I am pleased to report that I received my MAX V2 kit last week and was able to assemble it with about 20-24 hours effort. It took me 2.5 hours just to peel the laser cut panels and complete the part inventory. My kit was missing the U-Joint spring clips, but I spoke to Steve on the ...

Re: Assembly manual discussion thread!

I finished building my new V2 machine this afternoon and was able to print the PEEK fan shroud without any difficulty. But when I went to put the fan into the shroud it was very tight. I lined it up carefully and pressed it in using an arbor press. It was too tight and the shroud failed. I did some ...

Re: Hello from Central Virginia!

Hi Gene,

Thank you for the clarification!

I downloaded the previous version yesterday, apparently just hours before you updated it. Those extra 30 pages answer a lot of my questions!!!

Re: Hello from Central Virginia!

Is the "Instruction Guide" you refer to the same as the "Assembly Guide"? If not, where can I find it?

Hello from Central Virginia!

I ordered a Rostock Max V2 kit today and am looking forward to receiving it and the recommended connectors. I have read the Assembly Guide and will work through it a couple more times before the kit gets here. Being an incurable optimist, I tend to think ahead while waiting for bits and pieces to ...
