Should we tighten nozzle at temperature

The original nozzle became clogged on my Rostock Max 2. Replacing it was very straight forward: Order new nozzle ( http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=6069 ) Drop two arms into transport position. Heat hot end to 240. Use 3/8 in wrench to remove nozzle. Cool hot end. Install new nozzle ...

Over Packaging

No packing material, just the nozzle.

Re: PreFlight Checklist

Based on your suggestions, here is the updated PreFlight Checklist. The old version should still be around just in case you saved the link.

Re: PreFlight Checklist

That's great. How about you draw a Phillips head screw head in the middle of the "Down" and "Up" curves so it's clear to the tyro what you're talking about turning? (You know the answer, but if you're sharing it with others they won't necessarily know.) Thanks, Dan Great Suggestion!

PreFlight Checklist

After a month of experimenting with the Rostock MAX V2 printer, I realized that I was doing things backwards. My usual procedure was to start a print and watch it for a bit. If it comes out OK, smile with satisfaction. If it does not, figure out what is wrong, fix it and start the job again. Now I ...

Re: Slowing Down to 10mm/s

Support replied to an e-mail. The speed issue was due to a cooling setting that slows down print speed for small print surfaces. This, of course, screwed with every test/calibration object. The path to the offending setting is: Slic3r Filament Settings Cooling Cooling Thresholds Slow down .... and ...

Slowing Down to 10mm/s

This is on a Rostock MAX v2 0.91 firmware Slic3r RC3 and Stable PLA MatterControl and Repetier Host Direct Connect and SD Card All objects, but for the sake of testing, used 0.5 mm Thin Wall and Hollow Cube. No matter what I set the printing speed, the first layer prints at the set speed and the ...

Re: Greetings from Orange County

If you ever need help just drop us a message, it's amazing that you built the Max without a single question! I would call that a great job! Enjoy your new Max and Happy Printing! Thank-you. It was a bit of a struggle, however. I only needed one new tool (better crimper), but had most of the ...

Re: Saving intermediate file..... FOREVER

I exchanged some e-mails with MatterControl support on this. The immediate fix is to switch to CuraEngine for the Slicer. I did a couple of experiments with Slic3r. First, I upgraded from RC3 to Stable. That did not fix the "Saving Forever Issue". Second, I used Slic3r independent of MatterControl ...

... and mere minutes away from Matter Hackers, the fine folks that program MatterControl.

Built a Rostock MAX last month. Having a few issues with settings, but the printer itself if working great!
