Prints failing in the same place.
Thank you guys for helping us resolve our problems with artifacts. We turned on the fan, changed the speeds and temps. and now everything we print is basically artifact free. We do however, have a new problem. On larger prints that have much longer print times, we are noticing that our printer seems ...

Re: extrusion issues with rostock v2
We've played with the extruder temp., the z-lift, and the speeds for infill, perimeter etc. The print itself looks better on the outside faces, but on the inside we are still getting lots of artifacts. This has been the one constant the entire time. Why do we only get artifacts on the inside of the ...

Re: extrusion issues with rostock v2
Thank you all very much for the suggestions and input!
We're playing with temps right now, and after we have that worked out we'll play with Z-hop/lift.
We really appreciate the help.

Re: extrusion issues with rostock v2
It's ABS, sorry i forgot to mention that. We're using mattercontrol. we'll try slowing down the print as suggested. Any particular speeds we should be applying for the type of piece pictured?

extrusion issues with rostock v2
Hello, We are currently attempting to print a few test objects with our printer and are having some extrusion issues with our filament. Around smaller, more detailed areas the printer tends to leave globs, minor stringing, and even scorch marks. Around the larger areas and base areas it tends to be ...

What does "Low memory available" mean?
My friend and I Purchased a Rostock Max V2 kit in august of least year. We had the printer working and were almost through with calibrating it. This error message only ever happened after we downloaded the new version of Ardunio and the latest version of the V2 script. What does this error mean? Is ...

Re: Odd z height behavior and globbing
Thanks again for the input. I'll work on it a bit tonight when i get home from work. referring back to the guide, there is a section on how to tighten the idler pulley from the top. This is one of many parts that's extremely vague. He basically says to stick a screw driver in at the top pulley to ...

Re: Odd z height behavior and globbing
Most likely you are printing slightly too hot, you are probably over extruding slightly and you might need more cooling. Thanks! So our multiplier is currently set to 1.0, would suggest we drop it down to .9 to see if that helps as well? is the z height varying after prints normal? I didn't realize ...

Re: Odd z height behavior and globbing
Just bumping for updates. I think that we have a belt issue or something similar. Has anyone else experienced changes in calbration mid print or at other random times? Let me know if there are any specifics you'd like to know and I'll do my best to accommodate. Would really like get moving with this ...

Re: Z height drop during print
We are having the same issue here. Haven't been able to find much on it at all. It seems like we have to recalibrate ours after ever print or so. At this point i'm wondering if it's our surface. What do you have yours mounted on?

Odd z height behavior and globbing
Hey again, folks. Are there any obvious reasons why my z-height would be dropping lower after every print? I'm really at a loss. I have gone through the calibration process several times, probably upwards of 50. I go through the process at least twice a week because everything seems to come unglued ...

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
I thought there was a set screw in it? Here is what I'm talking about. Those grooves arent lining up with the tensioner piece, so we're getting madddd slipping. I counted the rotations our motor was making, and it was just shy of 3 full revolutions per 100 mm fed through, but we still got different ...

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
So i think i figured out what the problem was. Finally. It looks like our hobbed gear on the stepper motor installed backwards, so that the "grooves" aren't lining up with the filament tensioner. Unfortunately, i have no clue how to take that off. It appears to be locked on that motor. Any ...

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
What steppers, and what's your current settings?? The kysan steppers like a lower current setting.... I can't see your pictures on my phone, I will look when I get home at 11:00 Extruder steps per mm set to 92.650 and #define MOTOR_CURRENT {155,155,155,165,0} in firmware. Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
Sure here are a couple shots of the pieces we were able to print. In addition to these we were also able to print the fan shroud on from that same filament, for that, however, i do not have a picture. Roughly the same quality as the other two pieces though. As you'll notice, the top layers are a bit ...

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
did you set the e-steps on the extruder correctly? Unfortunately, we're a bit unsure of what that would entail. We followed the initial preparations that the guide includes and made the suggested changes to the "#define MOTOR_CURRENT" values. Are there additional calibrations we need to make on the ...

That is what we did and now the machine works. However, we got the following error during the start of a print: "No move in delta segment with > 1 segment. This may never happen and may cause a problem." We did get everything calibrated and installed correctly, but we are also now back to our ...

I did indeed power down the printer and turn it back on after the CLEAR_EEPROM but it appears that nothing happened. The printer just loaded up the Rostock firmware. We never got a blank screen indicating that the firmware had been cleared.

Re: V2 Printer Extruder Problems
We did both of the things suggested. First we downloaded MatterController. We could use all of the commands to move the ext ruder around. Then we decided to recalibrate everything. We reinstalled both Repetier and Ardunio, and all the files for the printer. We tried to clear the EEPROM and nothing ...
