Re: H1 hot end retrofit, or maybe just parts

Gave up, ordered the new one, installed the "sorta new" version that belongs to another person's printer, and while I like the design a whole lot better, an initial dribble test using the hollow cube (4mm elements, 30mm outside edges) shows almost as much detritus but somewhat less in troublesome ...

Re: H1 hot end retrofit, or maybe just parts

Dammit, the silence is deafening. seeme won't return my phone call, won't respond to my email, and I feel like I've been abandoned. There's a new kid on the block about an hour away, and he'll certainly get my future business based on this disappointing experience.

H1 hot end retrofit, or maybe just parts

1. are original H1 parts available? peek, nozzle .35
2. Does the currently listed hot end fit the original?
3. Has anyone progressed thru the various basic design stages, and nozzle designs
and what are the results?
4. Is this vacation week at seemecnc?

Re: H-1 dribbes before it shoots

Yeah, wondered about that myself. The fan helps with rigidity, which reportedly reduces the urgency to "see Alice", whoever that is. <g>

Re: H-1 dribbes before it shoots

Thanks for the reply. Lift doesn't help with the leading-edge dribble, just drops it earlier. Have tried many speeds from crawl to outrageous. The latest version of slic3r does a high speed jog back and forth between the pillars in the test cube, leaving threads and little drips. A strategy worth ...

Re: help with h-1 startup

You'll need a fourth axis to drive the extruder. Is it there? I run velleman thermostats (under 10 bucks at bgmicro?) to control extruder and heat bed temps (yeah, need the bed). I use Mach3 (about 150.00) to drive the lot. Works well for me and all my other cnc machines. If you want to get into ...

hand-held IR / laser pointer thermometers are about 10 bucks on dealextreme.com and ebay. Best 10 bucks I've ever spent!

H-1 dribbes before it shoots

After days of heat table and extruder temperature experimentation, I still have a couple of problems which make prints unusable (ABS) 1.75mm ABS (measures 1.65), Steve's extruder, .35mm orifice, using slic3r with Mach3. The most troubling model is the "another hollow cube" of 30mm, and having a ...
