Re: Varying Print Quality

Unscrew all three screws 4 or 5 turns out, and then reset your z height. from there you will have enough screw adjustment to calibrate each tower. That worked, and I was able to get them to work. However, I ran into another issue. I set the Z-Height by following the doc, but when I told the printer ...

Re: Varying Print Quality

Let us know what Reddit recommends and we can ascertain if you should check what they recommend. One of the things was the belt tightness. I am not sure how tight they are supposed to be, but one of the posters thought they were too lose. The second response was that my motors might be skipping. I ...

Re: Varying Print Quality

You can use the eeprom instead of the screws. Also. Screw positions are relative. Instead of raising a screw you can lower the other 2. And restart calibrattion. This will have the effect of the screw raised plus some Z offset Not sure what you mean. I tried to lowering the other two screws quite a ...

Re: Varying Print Quality

Yes, I have an Orion. I haven't downloaded the manual for the RockStock yet. I will go through the calibrations tomorrow. I previously leveled the towers based on the guide, but the right tower's screw is as far down as it will go and it's still misaligned. I will see if I can follow the guide and ...

Varying Print Quality

Hello everyone, I have been trying to print this model (Specifically, the torso portion), but have been getting somewhat mixed results. When I scale the object up 2 times its original size, I get this result. The original model doesn't seem to be printing much better. Here is an image of that ...

Re: Not printing continuous line

Thanks for all the help teoman.

Unfortunately, I came back and found the printer in a little bit of a mess. Was this possibly caused by the temperature being too low? The printer stopped printing on its own, which is a nice feature.

Re: Not printing continuous line

Well, I went and ran the Towers.gcode and adjusted the heights. The head was hitting the glass on the front two towers, so I adjusted them up. The right towers set screw is almost all the way down though. I also lifted the reel of filament as it may have been dragging. It looks better, but I ...

Re: Not printing continuous line

So, the bed may not be level thus causing the extruder to be clogged by the bed when it moves? This could be causing slippage of the cold end motor. If this is the case, then leveling the towers would be the solution and then resetting the Z-height? I shall make some more observations tomorrow ...

Re: Hotend not reaching temperature

Did it used to get up to 220? Could be that the peek fan is cooling the metal barrel too much and you can wrap the barrel with kapton tape. Is the layer fan blowing on the hotend while it is warming up? Cheers, I believe the fan is always on above a certain temperature. I can generally hear it when ...

Re: Hotend Jam

Well, I ended up taking apart the hot end. Used a heat gun and I was able to take DavidF to a degree and push it through.

Thanks for all your help.

Hotend not reaching temperature

Hello All, My Orion is having a hard time reaching 220. It is sitting at around 200 . I am not sure what it could be but I did recently have a jam that I cleared. Is it possible that something came loose? I was also looking into getting another hot end. One that was suggested was the E3D-V6 . I am ...

Re: Hotend Jam

Thanks.

Do I need to heat anything up to get the jam out? If I do have to heat anything, is further disassembly of the hotend required?

Hotend Jam

Hello, My hot end finally jammed after doing many prints. Nothing is extruding even when I rotate the extruder stepper by hand so if feels like there is a jam inside. I have taken most of the hotend apart, but I don't know how to disassemble the final piece. Here is am image of my entire hotend. How ...

I generally don't touch the speed setting. So whatever is the default. Still trying to get my head around what settings are controlled by GCode and what I can fine tune on the printer itself.

Getting better quality prints

Hello Everyone, I am new to 3D printing and the Orion Delta is my first 3D printer. I have had a lot of fun printing things in PLA, but have noticed that my print quality seems less than that of a Makerbot that is in the office. I was wondering if there was anything obvious that I was missing. Here ...
