Re: Bed leveling

OK...I think I've got it... I found in another thread that apparently the # of teeth in the pully's has also changed since the indiegogo campaign (I don't remember seeing that before...) I changed the #teeth setting in the firmware from 20 to 15 and recalibrated...now it's not lifting between towers ...

Re: Bed leveling

Having a problem here after following these directions and the ones from here http://minow.blogspot.com.au/ In preparation for working on an auto-leveling scheme (still waiting on my rare earth magents to arrive), I thought I'd check everything. I've been having success printing smaller objects in ...

Re: Interesting New Delta Printer with Autoleveling

I bought a few of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261186753702?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 They look to be pretty similar (although this is new territory for me), but the form-factor of the board is different. FWIW the seller shipped them out fast, and they were well packaged ...

Re: Interesting New Delta Printer with Autoleveling

I'm working on adapting this to our rostock max to see where I can get with it... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:111397 I've got a different hall effect switch than this guy used...and I've got some magnets on the way...If I can figure out how to fix the cad model it seems pretty straightforward ...

Re: Making the Rostock Max quieter

Not to join in with a me-too response, but this is so important that I had to add a comment... HOLY CRAP!!! I didn't believe that these dampers would make as big a difference as they do...I can litterally hear the electronics on the rambo buzzing away. Before putting the dampers in ...

Re: Upgrading Extruder?

I'm using the E3d hotend with the EzStruder and 1.75mm filament. I can't speak for 3mm filament. However, the only time I've jammed (abs) is on the first layer when my bed isn't level. Other than that I haven't had any issue with this setup. I do have the J-head also and used that with the ...

This guy has already taken a stab at the hardware to measure this on a rostock.

Very interesting...

Re: Upgrading Extruder?

OK, fair enough... re-reading the description of the ezstruder, it's more clear to me that it'll push 3mm filament to a directly mounted hot end, but only 1.7 via the bowden... I'm changing my hot-end order to 1.75. Seems like I might be best suited to picking up the ezstruder to go with this at ...

Upgrading Extruder?

Hey All: I'm looking at replacing my hotend and coldend extruder to help ensure success as I revisit my Rostock Max that I stepped away from for a couple months after having too many challenges getting a workable print. Ive ordered a e3d all-metal hotend kit (bowden version 3mm) and would like to ...

Replacement Nozzle

Is anyone else still waiting on the replacement Nozzle? I was having a heck of a time calibrating due to the oozing problem with the original nozzle...so I stopped working with the machine once I heard there was a new nozzle coming! Well...it's been painful watching my rostock just sitting there ...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO

I too am noticing the jerkiness...I've also notices that in the Marlin firmware there are bugs where the limit switches are not always respected ; they're apparently not scanned on all moves, so there are circumstances where you can slam the skakes into the top of the frame and make the belts grind ...

Re: Noisy extruder.

I had a horrible squeaking problem with mine... I took apart the center axle and found a bunch of white powder between the two gears that rub together....I suspect there was a burr in the plastic I didn't notice when I assembled it....I wiped up that powder and put it all back together and it doesn ...

Re: Hot end autotune question

Hmmm.

I'm running it on a PC (win7) and I see the errors too.

I have a mac--so I can test there also...I also see that there's a newer firmware (release candidate 2) updated just a few hours ago...time to do some further testing on this.

Re: Hot end autotune question

Strange... I've done several test prints, and several calibration runs... I *always* get those line number messages at the end of the calibration run (after the third set of outputs), and I've *never* seen one of these messages during a print....I'll check my usb cable, but the experience is much to ...

Extruder lag?

First good print!... After many trials/tribulations with the extruder gears grinding, and a heated bed meltdown I'm finally at a point where I can start calibrating... I'm seeing some threads then the head moves after extraction, and also having a thread attached to the top of my cube running up to ...

Re: Heated Bed Build Plate

I too had a problem with the pvc plate. Mine was fine for the first print or two, then while I was trying to work out other issues, I noticed that it was warping, and ultimately it "etched" itself on the underside in the pattern of the heating elements (and quite badly warped) I got out my laser ...

Re: Hot end autotune question

Yes...I get those same messages...

I'm assuming it's a firmware bug where it's not counting the lines it outputs correctly...

When I got them, I just used the values, then hit the reset button on the controller to clear everything up.

Is anyone *not* getting those messages?...

Re: Extruder motor problems

OK...seems to be a plastic noise...there was no interference with the knurled nut... I opened up the center axle and found a goodly amount of white powder between the two gears...I cleaned up all that powder, and tightened it all up again (paying careful attention to when the center gears start ...

Re: Extruder motor problems

I'm having exactly the same problem as charles... If I leave that bolt loose enough there's no noise, but there's also no movement of the plastic gears inside...when I tighten it enough for the gears to turn, I get the grinding noise... Could this be too much stress on the skate bearings?...it doesn ...
