Re: E3D Eruptor .8 nozzle
Ok, so after tinkering around. My problem is strictly with the filament. It is completely water logged and steams quite a bit, causing bubbles and voids. Also with it being slightly undersized (1.64mm) and steam pressure not helping, it does not want to extrude fast enough no matter what temp or ...

Re: E3D Eruptor .8 nozzle
Sorry thought i had mentioned that it's nylon trimmer line. Had amazing results with the .4 nozzle at 265, bed set to 100. Maybe its time to put the Filastruder to work and make some of my own nylon, we got plenty of pellets laying around.

Re: E3D Eruptor .8 nozzle
That's the weird part ....I can see the gear reverse but its super slow and not to my retraction settings. Its doing same thing on both sides of the part, almost like its trying to compensate? I will try boosting temp tomorrow... I'm at 270 now. What is the max the stock thermistor will handle? I ...

E3D Eruptor .8 nozzle
Hey Guys, I have been away for a little while due to a project for IBM at work. But, I have come back and with new goodies!!!! I received my e3d eruption pack with .6 .8. 1.0 and 1.2 nozzles. Also in the process of assembling my new Filastruder to allow me to make my own exotic filament(kynar, hdpe ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
There is a printable spacer that was part of that original design we all used instead of washers to hold it in place, look at the pics in the first couple of pages. If you want i'll post a separate file with just that. That would be great. Thanks! Here you go. Just use the same settings you used ...

Re: Solidworks and STLs
Wow... I guess the way to get a lot of response to a post is to ignore it for a few days :o  On the scaling issue - I admit that I exclusively work in inch format. And I either plain-didn't-see-it, or assumed that it would convert to inch. (I vote the "didn't see it" option) As far as the ...

e3dmount.png photo 1.JPG photo 2.JPG e3dv6mount.stl Thanks to the original files posted by eatoutmikey, we were able to modify it just a bit to fit our needs. We're printing Bridge Nylon with an E3D v6. We modified eatoutmikey's original file to include screw mounts on the bottom for TrickLaser's ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
I print PLA all day long with my E3D v6, no problems. I haven't personally tried pla with mine because I hate the stuff(left a 20hr print in my car this summer for a couple hours and it was ruined :x ) but have heard a bunch of horror stories in various other threads, wonder if this was fixed with ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
i hope you dont mind me asking this here, but has anyone had issues with filament on the E3D? Every time I finish a print I have to disassemble the hot end and remove all the plastic otherwise I cant get it to print again. At first I thought this was a heat issue, but i cranked the heat up to 240 ...

Re: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
So the Pro PLA was doing significantly better, but I still had issues. I turned down the heat and added a fan. Both helped, but I still ended up having several clogging issues even when using the Pro PLA. I decide that maybe upgrading to the E3D v6 might be the smart way to go. I took the ...

A wally-world shower curtain enclosure worked miracles for me when I had similar issues. I do agree though I usually run my prints at 235-240.

Thank you for sharing these with us. Each iteration is better than the one before. Mike is coming up with some good stuff also. It's nice bouncing ideas off one another and coming with new ones. If anyone prints any of these, I love to see pics and some feedback. Thanks for all the kind words Bone ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
This is my result, 1:42 print time. Overall happy with fit and finish, messed around with duct for layer fan so as not to be close/blow on heater block. Using 1/8 inch dowel to hold things in place. O.A.L. ended up at close to original due to the fact I wanted to print this as one piece using the ...

Wow so many different prints to try. Eatout, what is that black stuff on the bottom of your printhead? Thanks for sharing. Now I have too many designs. I still have to print another fan shroud for the stock head. It sounds like I am going to have to replace the peek fan soon. It is screaming like a ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
Looking good. I don't think you need a layer fan with ABS. But more with PLA. I really want to switch to Nylon soon also. Are you not having problems with the joints and arms hitting binder clips or the print itself? Might want to test printing at the extremes of the bed to how it prints. I was ...

I think I will buy the accessories so that I can just swap out the platform with the printhead with minimal fuss. Thanks for sharing. I think the TL arms are a must, or get some magnetic arm design installed. The other stuff is a nice to have I think. Up to you. Keep us updated. I agree, if you ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
I clearanced where the fins of the hotend pass by when installing. You can see that in the more first screenshot, look on the inside to the right. I also shorten the distance of the slot to move the installation hole close to the center. I made the walls going up 6mm thick to try and stiffen it up ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
Yea, I had the upgrade disc laying around, but I think I had to do it by the end of October. Now I have to call and ask them for a new code and so on. Hope it's not a pain. Thanks. The fan should fit through one of the opening and snap on to the hotend. The opening is still the same size with the ...

what software from Solidworks do you guys use Solidworks is the software, it's made by Dassault Systems. It's a pretty complicated engineering and design platform, and thus is pretty expensive. You do have a couple of options if you really want it. I don't know if they still do or not but ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End
I need to download a model of the hotend, I haven't done that yet. But I was talking about the walls that already there, just tilt them in 5 degrees. I tried going up to 10 degrees, but I think was to much. I have another idea after this one. But I'm going to wait on the reveal. Awwwww ...
