Can I borrow a Rambo 1.3 from anyone to test if mine is bad? Will compensate.
I need to test if my machine has an issue related to its Rambo. It "seems" functional but is throwing a lot of errors and interacting oddly with its Z probe. If anyone would allow me to borrow a Rambo board, I will pay shipping both ways and return it to you promptly after testing! I run a 3D ...

Upgraded 2014's Repeteir firmware to most recent... temp sensor problems now
I use a mostly stock Rostock Max V2, except I use a Budaschnozzle with a Honeywell 100K axial thermistor, carbon arms, and a flying extruder. It's super simple to change most of the hardware parameters, and I could migrate really easily to a point where the printer basically works... except... It ...

Anyone in RDU/Triangle area of North Carolina? Need V2 help
Hello! #1 TL;DR: I moved across the country and a Romax V2 needs calibration/repair assistance in NC. I'm actually quite an expert when it comes to Romax V2s. I've built more than six of them now, but the problem of the year is that one of the machines I built and installed for a school in North ...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetier
Okay so... two weird things: 1. I love the tool and built a special mount for a digital dial gauge to replace the calipers and rubber bands solution. For some bizarre reason you have to read a dial gauge opposite of the way you read calipers. So NEGATIVE is POSITIVE and vice versa. After I figured ...

Re: How to change E microstepping to 1/8 from default 1/16th
Changed the fourth value in the array to 8. Nothing happened. Printed well, no change apparent.
Changed the value to 4. Now everything is badly overextruded and the motor is making HORRIBLE noises.

Re: How to change E microstepping to 1/8 from default 1/16th
Wow that sounds like it's amazingly easy! Thank you... A few things: there are lots of commented warnings inside the firmware that say "DO NOT increase the speed your motors run at." Does that mean going to 1/32 stepping? Or is that referring to what I want to do with 1/8th? Is 1/8th faster than 1 ...

How do I change E motor microstepping from 1/16 to 1/8?
I've peeked into the firmware and it's clearly quite easy to change microstepping for XYZ axes... but that's not what I want to do. I am going to attempt to mount one of Mutley's custom "Flexstruders" with a flexible drive shaft to the effector platform. This will enable "Direct drive" printing on ...

Re: GIANT Rostock Max v2 Build + parts list! 32" print heigh
@KAS, it really would make things easier and I'll definitely tell my client about it - but doing something novel when I know the stock kits work well was a last resort of sorts. I love the idea of the flying extruder honestly. I wish I had thought to engineer it myself. I suppose I probably could ...

Re: GIANT Rostock Max v2 Build + parts list! 32" print heigh
To answer the questions: @Nylocke, calibration was actually shorter than ever for this machine. Sure it takes another 2-3 seconds for the carriages to travel down the towers, but overall I got the whole thing up and running perfectly in about 2-3 hours. The other Romaxes have taken a lot longer than ...

GIANT Rostock Max v2 Build + parts list! 32" print height
I'll make this short and sweet for now, but please feel free to respond with questions if you have them and hopefully I'll remember to check back here soon. In short, I build RoMaxes semi-professionally, and my most recent client wanted the freedom to print objects up to 24" tall. I said, sure, no ...
