Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
To run the expert mode, what you need to do is first, probe the bed normally and then enter those values into the normal X-ZOpp tower heights. Also, enter all the values you can pull from your EEPROM - don't enter defaults. Once done, open up the expert panel. Leave the percentages and horizontal ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
Yesterday night i spent calibrating the bed flatness again. Just to be sure, I'm going after multiple iterations here but which one is correct? Should i do the "expert" version over and over again until it's flat or the normal one? Because frankly, after one or two iterations nothing is even ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
This is the FSR kit I'm using: http://www.ultibots.com/fsr-kit/ I don't know much about how the html version of the calibration routine is used as I've never used it. If you look at the process log I posted above, you can see how the stand-alone application works. g. This looks really interesting ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
I can't answer those question because I don't know. I haven't taken my machine apart to straighten the towers out. Someone with more experience will have to answer those questions. Well i have now measured it again and just pushed the top side towards the right direction to fix it, and it seems to ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
Milp, Blue MAX took *18* iterations. If you value your sanity, I'd get an FSR kit. :) Hmm ok, well my sanity is long gone. Other than messing around with my rostock max i drive a 90s polish/italian car and an old russian motorcycle, I'm getting used to situations like these. Just to be sure ...

This should cover your glove fetish. http://www.ansellpro.com/download/Ansell_8thEditionChemicalResistanceGuide.pdf Or the interactive version: http://www.ansellpro.com/specware/guide.asp Awesome thanks! Now i can get really kinky with all the solvents. :D Any experiences with MEK as a nozzle ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
I think the least likely scenario is a problem with a stepper motor. Make sure your belt tension is good, cheapskate tension, etc. I just went through all that, i've been trying around for a week now. Got new delta arms after two had broken in the past when there were some unsupervised printer ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
I tried the normal manual calibration for ~5 iterations and i still have multiple millimeters in height difference on my measurement points still. I guess ill try the expert variant tomorrow, but i really don't get why this isn't working for me. Could that mean a stepper is damaged? I checked the ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
Thanks, i started using this yesterday but without attaching the caliper, instead i measured it manually every time. I did two rounds of calibration and it still wasn't very flat. Are there scenarios where this won't work? Like mechanical damage or the towers not being in a 90° angle to the bed? Oh, ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
Ok so i noticed that my towers aren't in a 90 degree angle to the bed anymore. Is there any way to fix this without having to disassemble half the printer?
Other than that, could there be mechanical damage from when i had the arms snap? Like a bent axle or someting? What is most likely to break?

Oh nice, so that could be used as a good nozzle cleaning tool then, is it effective?
What gloves can you use with it? PVA? Can nitrile be used as short term protection for handling?

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
Thanks for making something as promising as this, but i'm going crazy about trying to utilize this tool. 1. I can't seem to fix the caliper in a way that i can do all the measurements in the g code, at one or another spot the caliper tip always leaves the glass plate. I'm using the standard hotend ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
Ok, i retightened the X/Y/Z carriages a little, noticed the hotend carriage still moves a lot in every direction when you touch it and started to put cable ties around the ends of the rods to fight this. It seemed that the play came from differences between the rod end holes and the little white ...

Using Tetrahydrofuran to clean nozzles used with PLA?
Hi, I read that Tetrahydrofuran dissolves PLA like aceton does with ABS. I ordered a bottle and dropped two old and presumably "dirty" nozzles i used mostly with PLA filament into a glass with some THF for two days now. They look a little cleaner now, but it still seems there is some residue inside ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
It slightly moves when you touch it, mostly up and down. Yes i tightened the carriages so the rollers have no free play but aren't overly tight. I'm using all default settings for quality and material except for the filament diameter. Yesterday i calibrated it so that both in the middle and at each ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
I have just done the calibration and noticed that when i was working with the feeler gauge (used 0.2mm) there is so much play in the nozzle carriage, that the measurement would change between too tight and too loose on every given position if i only so much as touched the carriage. Is it normal that ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
That doesn't look like an extruder or hotend problem to me. It looks like slicing setting problem. I get that double layer thing when I don't set the proper loops and skin thickness. Your insides look awfully hollow. I usually use 33% fill for parts that don't need strength and upto 80% for parts ...

Re: massive underextrusion problems
Hi Tom, - yes, i measured the diameter like 6 to 7 times at different positions around the spool, then removed the highest and lowest value from the list and proceeded to average out the rest of the values. I think i will repeat this step today just to make sure that the value is correct. - i ...

massive underextrusion problems
Hi there, for weeks now since i've started printing again i've been having massive problems with underextrusion on my rostock max v2 Things i have done: - Replaced everything that was broken, new delta arms, new ptfe tube connectors, even replaced the nozzle just to be sure. - Reset the entire ...

"Oozing" when moving without extrusion
Hi there, currently I'm working towards achieving clean prints with thin layer thicknesses. However starting at .1mm layer thickness i get a weird kind of oozing from the nozzle when it does move without extruding. This leads to a lot of overhangs and general mess I have to remove afterwards. I was ...

Re: My DIY Rostock Booth (picture heavy)
The new arms might still take some time, turns out the ones i managed to print aren't quite strong enough. That placard is a show off from IBM's production of "Monolithic FET Memory Modules 2048bit/Chip" in the early 1970s. My grandpa got it in 1975 for his 25 year work anniversary. It's kind of an ...

Re: My DIY Rostock Booth (picture heavy)
A large print partially warped off the bed, obstructed the hot end and eventually one arm snapped loose and the other broke, that happened twice.geneb wrote:How on earth did you manage to break the arms?!

My DIY Rostock Booth (picture heavy)
I felt the need to present my Rostock Max, set up in my kitchen/workshop. Gotta love my man cave apartment. Made a cover for the printing area using rescue blankets and left over fabric. My current project is printing new delta rods from ABS, so keeping ...
