Re: XY-Layer shifting with warm Machine

Hi, I think I have found the problem. It seems that I am simply missing steps, due to "low" current settings in the firmware. I have never changed angything from the machine, so I don´t know know exactly why the printer needs these settings now. The only thing I suspect: After having the issue, I ...

Re: XY-Layer shifting with warm Machine

ok, thanks for the ideas.. The glas plate is mounted solid --> no problem here The pulleys on the stepper motors are also tight --> no problem here I have made some test-prints: From left to right #1 one prisma, spiral vase --> perfect quality (the waviness comes from the thermal distorsion since it ...

XY-Layer shifting with warm Machine

Hi, right now I have the problem that on some prints the xy-layer seems to move around for about 0.5mm. This leads to steps in the parts in the horizontal plane. I cannot find anything loose on the printer. All bearings, belts, motors, struts and things are fixed right... Some parts, especially when ...

Re: Wavy Prints at higher parts

Hi, I have finally found the solution. In the end it was one for the slider-shuttles that run the profiles up and down. I have had checked these many times, and they never had any play. The one was pretty loose, i could move it around about 2-5mm. Today I assume that it was somehow clamped, and did ...

Re: Wavy Prints at higher parts

Hi, yes I am using a heated bed. At ABS i am printing with 105°C bed temperature. I am using the heat bed to heat my print chamber to reduce cracks. I have had perfectly good prints in the past with the same setup, so i don`t think it is something like that.... As an update: Yesterday I was pretty ...

Re: Wavy Prints at higher parts

Hi, I am pretty sure that heat or support is not the problem. The brown test print from the foto is a triangle/prisma printed with spriral vase option. The part is 1layer thick --> 0.4mm The other prints i have had this problem are normal parts, with about 7-10% infill. I have printed many of these ...

Wavy Prints at higher parts

Hi, recently I have the problem that my prints are pretty wavy at the edges at higher positions. It looks like they start perfectly straight at the print bed, and get worse with every millimeter I print. The first 60mm (2 1/2") look pretty good, and after that it gets worse. At about 29cm (10") the ...

nozzle Temperatur racing 10deg?

I habve had a clogged nozzle today, so i removed the nozzle and cleaned it. After that i have a cold temp reading of about 10 degree at the nozzle, instead of about 25deg what's realistic. If I heat up the nozzle, the temperature rises, but i don't trust it. Is there any failure that can lead to ...

Re: Print Glass and all pushed off printer

check the Z-lift! I had issues with it on my larger prints. No i have a Z-lift of about 1.3 or 1.5mm and no problems. see http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=7509 If you have no z-lift, the nozzle might catch a structure when moving fast. This is especially true wenn you get cracks in ...

Re: Adjusting for different bed heights

there is a parameter called Z Offset offset.

Works pretty well when saved with the material properties.

It is listed unter the slic3r settings, but works well with MC-Slicer engine...

Retract settings?

Hi, i have the problem that after each retract, the material does not extrude imediatly. This results in 2-4mm gaps in the infill. Like it is retracting 6.8mm (current setting), but extruding (after retract) only 4mm. I have tried to reduce the retract speed from 110 to 55mm/s, but it did not change ...

Re: Plexiglass Enclosure for Rostock 2 -- Any Suggestions?

What do you think of my version?

It´s not plexiglass but 0.8mm PET.

it is just a cylinder with some holes in it to open the casing.
The holes fit to two extended screws from the top assembly.

It`s super simple and inexpensive.

Re: What created these Fails?? --> ABS Pop Corn

Hey, i guess/hope your advise was correct!! I set up the z-lift to 1.0mm and repeated the print. Since i am not in a hurry here i also reduced speed to 40%. Right now it is about 90% finished... :P At the beginning i sometimes heard a noise when the nozzle was rappidly moving right to left. I guess ...

What created these Fails?? --> ABS Pop Corn

I am currently printing a canopy for a OV-10 RC model. The forward canopy frame printed pretty well. It was the first "larger" print i did on the RMV2. IMG_20150128_160907.jpg The aft canopy looks similar, but is about 4 times longer. About 240mm in length. The first print was a pure desaster ...

Re: too few filament out of nozzle... extruder slipping?!??

Hi again, the problem is solved. I had some "material" in the nozzle. I could poke a wire through it, but the internal surrounding of the nozzle was clogged. I have put the nozzle on a stove and heated it up well. Then poking around in the nozzle and there came some brown material. Right now I am ...

Re: too few filament out of nozzle... extruder slipping?!??

Hi, The firmware limits the temp. at 247C. I have had some good prints with it. It´s just that i get less and less flow today i have disassembled the hotend and extruder. The hotend is free and everything, assmbled again. So i don´t think there is any damage to it. Is there any peek damage possible t ...

too few filament out of nozzle... extruder slipping?!??

Hi, since yesterday my RMV2 is running, more or less. I was able to get 1.5 good prints out of the machine. --> who designed that "home towers" button next to the speed setting??? The problem: it seems that there is very few material coming from the nozzle. Especially at starupt it is ...

Re: Rostock Max V2 as first 3d Printer

Since i live in germany i will probably order it from robosavvy.com, to avoid paying 300+€ in toll and taxes. Servus, are you sure robosavvy.com is cheaper in the end? Right it is 1110€ euro if you order from seemecnc. This includes the todays USD to euro exchange rate, shipping and 20% taxes. (i ha ...
