Re: scaling in X and Y as it gets taller (z direction travel)
yeah. tower tilt is my theory as well. I've never messed with it myself. it's been exactly as it came from seemecnc - accept that it has traveled a bit. I'll go find a way to measure that and see.maybe a tight cord around the top would make enough of a difference to do a quick test?

Re: wave / ripple after upgrading to new arms and injection molded cheapskates
that's appreciated but I think the problem is weirder than that. any layers traveling perpendicular are perfect - too much adhesion even. in fact, going the direction where the ripple happens its great adhesion. plus the pattern is very consistent and seems to scale with the size of the triangle. it ...

scaling in X and Y as it gets taller (z direction travel)
My parts are shrinking in the X and Y as is goes upwards in the z-direction. it appears to be fairly consistent - about .5 of shrinkage per 50mm of height. it does not appear to get more extreme if the part is wider, so I figured it's not the delta_radius / arm_radius, but I don't really know. The ...

wave / ripple after upgrading to new arms and injection molded cheapskates
I have an old first gen Orion and I upgraded to the new arms and the new injection molded cheapskates to fix some problems occurring from wear and tear. Now I have a new problem. Basically, when traveling in a particular direction on the top and bottom layers this ripple forms. when traveling 90 ...

Re: Orion extruder doesn't heat
I moved the Heating element wires and the fan wires that were on slot zero to slot 1 and updated the firmware to designate XT0_HEATER_PIN as HEATER_1_PIN using the tips from this post about enabling dual extruders : http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=7532 but it didn't work, so i ...

Orion extruder doesn't heat
Rambo1-2-conn-main.jpg My Orion printer stopped heating up the extruder/heating element. The bed heats fine. The thermistor is giving readings, and I swapped out the fuses for new, tested ones on the advice of some others on this forum. Referencing this post : http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic ...

Re: E3D Volcano Test Prints
Is the problem that there are gaps between the passes on the first layer? I have this with my e3d as well, on every nozzle .8-1.2mm, once i make the layer width wider than the nozzle diameter. For whatever reason, setting the extrusion multiplier to 1.14 is about perfect for me regardless of nozzle ...

extruder and extruder fan stopped working
Howdy, I've been doing tests on my e3d volcano on my Orion Delta, getting great results and was printing some calibration files for a blog post on 1.2mm nozzle settings, when all of a sudden the cooling fan cutout and the extruder stopped heating. To clarify, I'm talking about the fan that sucks the ...

a few quick newb questions
Hi all! Ive bene having problems finding the I need in the forums, thanks in advance for any help. The slic3r settings downloaded from seemecnc.com have PLA heated to 210. Why is that? I thought PLA should be heated to 180 ish. The site lists the maximum bed diameter as 150mm, but the settings come ...
