What about the opposite, freeze the bearing. Would that be bad for the lube? - Old techie trick freeze a noisy clicking harddrive to get data off it.

2nd on the connectors. Belt tension too In a haste to get the thing running I twisted my extensions and did pin swaps. Each time I had chatter it was wiring. All extensions are soldered now. Make sure you go back to the original wiring as well.

Aloha First off, in between all changes, we were very paranoid and closed repetier, powered Rostock off - then on, relaunched repetier, then hit the reset button next to USB port, . Gave up on the wiring and went back to the original wiring and used the software fix. It works now. It wasn't too hard but finding all the documentation in one spot was tough. I'm working on a guide for that. I do not recommend flipping wires, it caused some strange problems.
