Re: Anyone have their Tricklaser anti-lash straps pop off?
heat shrink won't be elastic enough to stay on and perform the expected function of the lash straps - print new connectors that are fractionally bigger and with more rasp on the teeth and install them - should sort it out

Re: Rostock Max V2 - New build
Another thing I noticed was that the Extruder trying to overcome the mass and friction of the Spool holder assembly was sometimes giving me lots of problems periodically.... jams - chewing up filament etc.... To eliminate this altogether I downloaded and modified and existing STL from Thingi' and ...

Re: Rostock Max V2 - New build
Another issue I was encountering was curling and slight lifting on PLA prints due to uneven cooling from the single layer fan that I had at the time. I waited until I fitted the new kit and then designed and printed two layer fan holders with slight modifications to fit the E3DV6 head and max metal ...

Re: Rostock Max V2 - New build
Wow - lots has happened since I last had chance to post here: It was apparent to me after a while that although Some mods weren't strictly necessary - I definitely wanted to address some issues personally that I had. So I ordered Trick trucks - max metal platform and the carbon fibre arms. These ...

Re: How to enter a user defined thermistor table?
overhauled the E3D today and fitted the M3 therm - I used table 1 and the difference in printing is now literally like night and day! It sort of confirms my suspicions that the stock e3d therm' was way under-report actual temps at the nozzle by a large margin. very happy chappy right here and I'm ...

Re: How to enter a user defined thermistor table?
I've got a meter thermocouple combo on the way to manually test things - in the meantime my research has thrown up that existing table 1 might be a good place to start as it's 'supposed' to be for generic epcos 100k therm's so I'll try that and see before I go entering the table manual for a user ...

Re: Good starting settings for RoMaxV2 and E3DV6
I've settled on an extrusion multiplier of 0.97 and my retraction distance has evened out at between 0.8-0.95 for best results.. with width and nozzle manually set to 0.4mm I will definitely try your suggestion with the retraction speed - it's the one variable I haven't actually played with too much ...

Re: How to enter a user defined thermistor table?
Anyone?
I need to know whether the values need the 4 and 8 multipliers added or not? I do not know at present how to check if the table is a sprinter one which needs those multipliers according to the documentation..
I'm guessing that they do?
cheers

Re: Good starting settings for RoMaxV2 and E3DV6
It's a genuine E3D V6 and the retract is currently set to 1.8mm. - and was never higher than 2.5mmm in all the failed prints.. it was the first thing I tried to get better results ;) it just can't go faster than 45mm/s without jamming - the extruder pushes filament faster than the head can melt it ...

Good starting settings for RoMaxV2 and E3DV6
After getting some absolutely rubbish results with the E3D V6 hot end with S3D - I undertook a few days of testing and discovered a few interesting things. With the standard 0.4mm Nozzle on the E3D it simply cannot keep up at the default speed settings for the Rostock in the S3D 3.0 default file ...

How to enter a user defined thermistor table?
I've been dialling in the Max v2 gradually over the last week with the E3D hot end and starting to get there.. However I've found the thermistor they supply to a bit wacky - I've had to set the temps for PLA right up to get good prints even though I have defined table 8 in the Config.h file as per ...

Re: Rostock Max V2 - New build
Woot! Got her up and running - and calibrated! - :) One thing I want to check - when I did the calibration I had the bed and the E3D hot end up to working temperature - is this correct or should the calibration be done with a hot bed and cold hot end - I was under the assumption the paper ...

Filament Extruders - any recommednations?
I'm looking to get a filament extruder for making some of my own regular use standard filament - are there any recommendations from people who already have used - built and tested a machine?
cheers

Just a quick update: Haven't managed to install the firmware yet - Work got busy as hell and then I had a week to deal with a particularly bad Gallbladder attack that required anti-biotics - sigh - back to the project very soon!! Re: Rostock Max V2 - New build
Looking very nice. Is this the E3D V6 mount you used? Im thinking about getting one but just looking into mounting options now. This is the one I got and used - http://repables.com/r/296/ I used this level with my bed and also couldnt get closer than .1 degrees off. Maybe if i had a second set of ...

Rostock Max V2 - New build
After weeks of research and now some spare time available I started my build. I'm incorporating a E3D V6 from the outset along with some other small mods - also building stock head as a spare. Didn't currently have a printer so got a proper mount for the E3Dfrom sculpteo with some custom aluminium ...

Re: New to The forum - Saying Hello and need some advice
Upgrade your power supply to 600w or better with dual 12V rails; Do you have any suggestions for one that'll do the job? I take it it's more useful to have the one rail going to the heated bed and the other to the hot end (amongst others) any preference for power splitting and sharing re: the ...

Re: New to The forum - Saying Hello and need some advice
I've ordered the E3D already - being UK made and living in the UK it's relatively inexpensive to get hold of one considering - It just makes sense to me that Instead of building the unit and then having to disassemble and modify and recalibrate in about a month or so (worst case scenario) - it would ...
