Re: Max V2.ORNG!

Hi! Love the build! Where did your source the wiring protector that hangs down from your top plate into the build area... For the life of me I cant find anything like it and I want to find one. Hey, thanks! KSS Wiring - EGRWW16SR Cable Gland is the exact part that I have used on my machine ...

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

VERY nice build! I love the neat wiring and attention to detail. very Trick looking. Thanks, Brian! That pushed the overall build time just a liiiittle bit over what the manual suggested :D I would like to see a video of your printer working... As soon as I get a chance to make one, I'll post it ...

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

You can find quite a few videos on YouTube with machines that have the Astrosyn dampers installed, but this video convinced me to get mine. The power button LED is actually on in the last image I posted, it's not very bright. The carbon fiber textured vinyl was first attached to the plate and then I ...

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

Last week I was randomly checking ebay, looking for that elusive negative orange LCD when lo and behold, I found it back in stock at the same company I linked previously in the thread. Today, it finally arrived. [img]https://2ad26a8995338c9ed824900cebdfeb53d1d3b2af.googledrive.com/host ...

Re: Trouble calibrating and weird noises

Well, I figured out that the binder clips were vibrating. It wasn't my motors making a majority of that noise. For now, I've put zip ties on the ends to keep them from having too much play. You can easily remove the binder clip handles by squeezing each handle until one of the side pins slide out ...

Re: Surface finish of parts printed on support

I've learned a few things since that post, yep. [...] I've also learned some neat tricks for using MeshMixer to do "tree" supports on complex parts. Thank you for all the info! MeshMixer looks really awesome, I could definitely use that on more complex parts. Show us your part. Sometimes seeing it ...

Re: Surface finish of parts printed on support

I was wondering, have you ever solved this issue? I am getting the exact same results with concave/domed parts that require printing on supports and I am not sure what to do to improve the finish quality. Printing on soluble supports isn't really an option since I don't have a dual extruder setup ...

Thanks guys!

@Jassper, that looks very nice. I have yet to find a source for a negative orange/amber display but I am still looking.

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

Very nice build VF_! I really like all the attencion to detail. Good job. Thanks, I appreciate it! As for quality are they plastic and fray easily or do they have a dense material feel to them... They seemed pretty good and dense to me, but don't take my word for it as I have nothing to compare ...

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

Tidy wiring job, I'd not have the patience :) but I've never found any good quality sleeving in the UK and all the stuff I've sourced so far has been poor. I need to redo my entire wiring loom for my Orion so I'm looking for some good quality sleeve and heat resistant covers like you've used on ...

Re: Max V2.ORNG!

Thanks, guys! It does indeed print very nicely. The only issues I'm having at the moment are due to moisture in the filament (lesson learned). I still have to mount the side panels which I postponed until I get a chance to buy some clear acrylic as I think it would be a shame to hide the insides ...

Max V2.ORNG!

Well, since I've been lurking around these forums for a while now and learned a great deal from you guys, I though my first post might as well be my build log. I received my kit back in January. Although I had fiddled with things ever since I can remember, this is the biggest and most complex ...
