Re: MuggsMAX

Yes, well, no. They're directly stolen from Brian's awesome TrickTrucks and changed to fit my desires. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Seriously, I looked around at quite a few different designs on the net, but I didn't like any of them, until I saw the TrickTrucks. I almost ordered them but I wanted something a ...

Re: MuggsMAX

More progress. I got my parts from my the waterjet guy, and they are awesome! I assembled the OpenBuild's Solid V-Wheel Kit onto them using an M8x30mm low-profile SHCS (M-C # 93070A131). I used the spacer and washer supplied by OpenBuild, but I need one more washer to space the plate away from the ...

Re: MuggsMAX

Yeah, That's what I thought. From all of my reading I couldn't find a single case of anyone using 3mm filament. I thought it might be possible, but like I've said I have ZERO experience with Delta printers.

Thank you!

Re: MuggsMAX

Yeah, that makes perfect sense to me, I just wanted to be sure there wasn't something "better" about 1.75mm that I wasn't aware of.
Thanks!

Re: MuggsMAX

Quick question:

Is there any difference/benefit to using 3mm vs 1.75mm filament?
I have a Lulzbot TAZ 5 and a fair amount of 3mm filament, but is there a good reason to build my Delta to use 1.75 or stay with 3mm?

Re: MuggsMAX

While I'm waiting on my WaterJet guy to cut my modified "TrickTrucks", I'm working on the details.

Re: MuggsMAX

TFMike,

I couldn't get Repables to upload my parts, so I put them up on Thingyverse:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:784666

I uploaded STL's and Parasolids.
Please remember this is a WIP. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Re: MuggsMAX

TFMike, Yeah I have no problem at all with sharing what I have. What is the best way to get these out to you or whom ever wants them? Gethub, Thingyverse, something else? Just keep in mind that I am designing these parts "on the fly", but If I make them available in ParaSolid format then the user ...

Re: MuggsMAX

Hello Gents! So I had some time to work on the MuggsMAX today. I've been printing parts (when my TAZ 5 is working, but that's another story) And I was able to do some assembling today. IMG_0056.JPG IMG_0057.JPG Some details: IMG_0059.JPG IMG_0060.JPG IMG_0061.JPG I decided to go with a 12V power ...

Re: MuggsMAX

Well, that's actually another of my questions. Probably the Onyx bed.
I've been seeing what Werner Berry did with Ni-chrome wire, and think it is very cool, but I don't think I understand enough about it.

Any suggestions?

Re: MuggsMAX

Cool, Thanks!

OK, questions 1 and 2:
1. 12V or 24V PS? 24V seems like a no-brainer, are there any drawbacks?
2. My NEMA 17 motor choices are many. Which one, and where is a good source?

MuggsMAX

Hello All, Pretty new to the forum, this is my first post but I've been lurking for a while now. I bought a TAZ 5 and so I have, as you can imagine, been reading everything I can on 3D printing. I was having a LOT of problems with my TAZ, but I have that all sorted out now, thanks in no small part ...
