Depending on the size of the part, running a skirt around the base will help prime the system. If it's a small item, you will need 2 or 3 loops, larger stuff will get away with 1 loop. I try to put a 10"+ length of skirt before any print.

Dialing things in

Rostock Max V2, 2 1/2 days of print time, this is my first 3D printer. First off, I've had successful prints right from the start. I do like to tinker though, and I'm chasing a higher quality finished part then I am getting at the moment. Everything is leveled well and running fine for the most part ...

I was just reading over it, and noticed that 2 year mark. I think for now, I'll stick with the way it shipped, and possibly tinker later once I know what I'm doing.
