Re: Having trouble with fan control in MC
So does anyone that has an E3D or other hotend that need to be constantly cooled use Matter Control? Surely someone has to have a workaround for something this simple.

Having trouble with fan control in MC
I recently started playing with my printer again and made several upgrades. One change was to switch from Repetier to Matter Control. Since my firmware upgrade from .80 to .91 Matter Control is the only way I can connect to my printer. I am still calibrating, but for some reason Matter Control doesn ...

Go to www.dragonplate.com/carbonfiber and order the .375" pultruded carbon fiber round tube. It wasn't very expensive. I got mine in the mail today.

Re: Flateric's Prints and Tests collection
Those are nice! how did you print the dual color vase? Is it ABS or PLA?
Also, how much time did you have to spend calibrating?

Thank you Flateric. I have been wondering if there was such a diagram somewhere. That could be really useful.

Re: Rostock MAx section 12 help - MIND THE GAP
I think the gap everyone is trying to mind is the one between the T-Slot extrusion and the edge nearest the top clamp that points toward the center of the top plate of the assembly. There is no way to make that gap flush with the edge of the upper plate of the Rostock on my machine. The fastener ...

Re: I just got some interesting Info from Permatex
Arctic silver is still not rated above 150 degrees C. It is NOT appropriate for a hotend. It may work for a short time, but will vaporize over a few uses. Stick to one of the products rated for higher temps.

Re: Any Reason To Not Use Syncromesh Cables?
Looks pretty close in diameter to me. you can find a 20 tooth, 10.3mm diameter pulley with a 5mm bore for about 10 bucks. Part number A 6P 9M0602005, click on the part number in the link to pull up an autocad file. Here is a working link, https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Direct.asp?GroupID=312 Forgot to ...

Re: Rostock serious business problems.
I asked them to replace the wooden plate underneath the Onyx because I damaged it during assembly. They did it with no problem. They have been very good about providing phone support too. Support is always excellent. I do think the Rostock Max is still somewhat of a work in progress though and all ...

Re: I just got some interesting Info from Permatex
There is a better more appropriate product if anyone chooses to use a thermal paste rather than aluminum foil for this application. It is call Red Ice 611HTC and it is rated to be used up to 360°C. None of the off the shelf thermal pastes like Arctic Silver are rated above about 150°C. I have a s ...

Those reels are beautiful. Also, that gear you printed is exactly the kind of capability that got me excited about 3D printing in the first place. You should post a video of it in motion,

That is really cool. I wonder how much detail is lost during this process. The squirrel seems to have retained its detail from what the pictures show.

Re: Very bad Onyx heating (max 80°C)
I am not saying anything is wrong with the Onyx at all. Anyway, Steve was very up front about the heating times when I ordered my Onyx and said since he designed it for 12v (due to the standard 12v power supply) and it was larger than the Phebe, heating times would be longer. I think he actually ...

Re: Very bad Onyx heating (max 80°C)
I have been reading about the Onyx heating issues and people's suggestions here. I am wondering though Mhackney, is there any risk of damaging the Onyx bed due to overvolting it since it was designed to use 12v power? I am actually using a multi-output power supply to power my Rostock (still sanding ...

Re: Dave living in Baltimore MD
Hey Dave, I am working on my Rostock Max build right now with dual extruders and the Smart LCD Screen. I'm about 60% complete. I should be done with it well before the festival and I live in Rockville, MD. I would be happy to show it to you once it's done. I am also interedted to see what your ...
