Re: bad element in the heat bed?
The heat spreader sounds like an idea. I didn't think of that. I might have a got at that. As for uniformity, I haven't tried just printing a single layer and checking it. I have done the calibration and got it very zeroed at each of the towers and consistently hitting the right spacing. I even ...

bad element in the heat bed?
So I have been having an issue with this printer since I've owned it and I'm thinking I may have finally figured it out, but wanted to run it by everyone here. Whenever I try and printer larger items on my V1, I have terrible lifting on my ABS prints. I though there may be a draft, bad leveling and ...

Re: Serious, sudden offset
So I resliced it and tried it this morning at it came out fine after the 2 failed attempts yesterday afternoon, so I'm still leaning towards Slic3r doing something funny.

Re: Serious, sudden offset
Nevermind... it must be the gcode as the reprint just did it again in the same spot. Slic3r must have had a hiccup.

Serious, sudden offset
So now that I got my new E3D running due to my printer breaking the stock one, I've been running it pretty solid for about a day for about a dozen or so prints coming off it. Then I just had a print fail like it did before it crashed and broke the last hot end. Knowing this, I rechecked the ...

It's actually not purple, but rather a dark metallic blue.

Re: someone share their configuration file
I don't know. he wasn't the most talkative of guys. I do rather like it. He didn't exactly do the wiring nicely, though, so I went and redid all the wiring so it comes down the center instead of just running over the side. I see why people like to upgrade to this hot end. I'm already getting better ...

Re: someone share their configuration file
And we are back in business. I figured it had to be something simple and it was just too late after a long day. Now it's off to calibration land I go...

Re: someone share their configuration file
That was quick. Lovin this community already. Here is a pic of the stepper gear if that helps to determine what version I have. The Y does seem to be inverted, didn't think to check the invert flag, will do that. The arm length was already set to 269 in the version I downloaded. The motors are ...

someone share their configuration file
So I purchased a Max V1 off craigslist and have been fixing it up and making some improvements to it. I've gotten a few prints off of it, nothing special, but I'm playing. But then out of no where, I finished 1 print and loaded another in Repitier host and sent it to the printer. Don't know why, but ...
