Shattered bed (ABS Juice)
So: ABS Juice definitely works amazingly well. Removing a print last night (maybe a 3" circle flat base) actually pulled a shard of glass off of the bed, maybe half the thickness of the bed, 1"x1/2". No big deal, I thought, I'd planned to put a PEI sheet on top of it anyway. The next piece I ...

Re: Slow bed heating: solution!
Preheating the bed defeats the purpose of the auto-tune process. g. I think you are incorrect. Can you explain why you think that, or point to evidence? The PID values are all about minimizing oscillation during normal operation. When the bed is cold, the PID is basically irrelevant and the drive ...

Re: Slow bed heating: solution!
Are these two values "Bed PID max value" "Bed PID Drive Max" set lower than 255 for a reason? Beats the heck out of me. The only reason I can think of is that the driver on the board can't handle continuous current at 12v with the bed resistance. It can clearly handle it periodically (as it is PWM ...

Slow bed heating: solution!
(Posting this as a separate topic in hopes that others in the same boat see it) Original Thread Steps I suggest for all v2max owners (with good power supplies): 1) fix both Bed Head max's in EEPROM 2) run PID autotune on the bed (not mentioned in the manual) Details: - preheat the bed to some ...

Re: only 9V to heated bed
Yup, that was it. The defaults are bad and the manual doesn't indicate to update them (that I saw, at least). Steps I suggest for all v2max owners: 1) Run PID autotune for the bed - preheat the bed to some reasonable temp (I did 75) - bring up the gcode terminal in mattercontrol - type "m303 p1 s75 ...

Re: only 9V to heated bed
Interesting. Poking around, I found two things: 1) the heated bed max rate is set at 200 (presumably out of 255). This explains a lot: 12.2 * 200/255 = 9.5V, close enough for government work to what I was reading. I fixed this. 2) You can do PID Autotune for the heated bed, but the documentation ...

only 9V to heated bed
I have a Rostock MAX v2, the new version from fall of last year with the new PSU. I'm not happy with the heated bed ramp time (much slower than my Ultimaker). I finally had things taken apart a bit (replacing a burned out nozzle heater and making my hot-end wiring completely detachable), so I ...

Re: Expected ramp time for heated bed
I believe it is 29A, 12V, so 360W. This is the new PSU (not ATX). Also, 12ga wire to the bed. I can get to 50C pretty quickly. 80C takes 15 minutes though, and the one time I tried 90 (from 80), I waited 10 minutes and only made it to 86. New Rostock max v2, open air, ambient is 69F, 20C. (STP) If I ...

Expected ramp time for heated bed
I've got a new Rostock MAX v2, with the new 32A PSU (not an ATX supply). Works great. However, heated bed seems to take quite a while to heat (20 minutes). Way longer than my ultimaker takes. I'm using the stock bed with stock glass. Before I start debugging: What is expected temperature ramp time ...

Hello from Austin
I've got an Ultimaker (currently in the middle of e3dv6 metal hot end upgrade), and I've always wanted a Delta. Just bought a Rostock Max v2, starting assembly.
First job: print pieces to finish my Ultimaker upgrade.
