Re: Stupid Q. How can I copy my FW out of my Max?

Thanks Eric. For some reason the FW I dl'd off the seemecnc site had INVERT_Y_DIR set as false. But X and Z were set to true..... My towers all move the correct direction now. I test ran the 1st layer of the part this started on and it looked like it ran fine. Heating up the build plate now to test ...

Re: Stupid Q. How can I copy my FW out of my Max?

Ok... Apparently it was actually my "Y" drive not my "X" drive. I swapped the paths around in the FW. And I get movements in all axis'. BUT my "Y" is now moving the wrong direction when Homing. Should I swap the wires around? Or is there a setting I need to change? Thanks for your help Eric! I ...

Re: Stupid Q. How can I copy my FW out of my Max?

Outsider, The motor does move and commands seem to do as it's told ie: home or rapid to _. It's just that halfway thru that first layer something happens and the "X" drive misbehaves. Thank you for the suggestion though! Erik, Ewww! Ok that's way over my head. lol I guess I'll just copy my eeprom ...

Stupid Q. How can I copy my FW out of my Max?

I've always been very marginal with the code side of stuff. So hopefully someone can help me out with what must be an easy thing to do.... I would like to copy the firmware that currently resides inside of my RAMBO board. I was printing the other day and my "X" tower started acting funny. So I want ...

Re: Repetier 091 for Rostock MAX now available

Yes, I tried reversing the extruder while the hotend was up to temp (230). I have tried a few prints and it does retract. But will not reverse, only tried thru the Rep host.

And thank you for the explanation on the loss in height. I like that, a good addition to the firmware.

Re: Repetier 091 for Rostock MAX now available

Just updated my firmware from 0.81.

Everything seems to be working fine but I have an issue with my extruder. I can extrude just fine but it will not reverse. How can I get that to work again?

Also when I recalibrated my z height, why did I lose 5mm in total height?

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

626, in response to your thought of using threadlock to seal the threads. I would recommend against that. Heat is what you use to break down the threadlocker so you can unscrew it. Both Blue & Red start breaking down around 250C. There is a high temp one (272) that goes up to 450C, but you would ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

I tried changing the extrusion and infill width to 0.45 and re-checked the filament multiplier. It ended up changing to 0.95 Still getting blobbing on the corners, and slowing the accel still results in way overfilled corners. I've pretty much settled in to accel of 500. Changing the jerk settings ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

626, 1st off. Yes I did do my extruder calibration. Ez struder, 96 steps per mm (extruded 100mm, measured 100mm with digi calipers), measured filament multiple times (avg. 1.71mm), filament multiplier 1.0, nozzle dia. 0.4mm, KISS set to 0.4 extrusion width, thin wall extrusion printed at 0.4 to 0.42 ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

I tried some crazy retarded retractions speeds. 500mm/s w/ 3000 accel. Also noticed the bowden tube was moving some during retracts, so I took the play out. Tried printing out the hollow cube. One at 50mm/s and the other at 15mm/s. Can you tell which is which? Very disappointed that these blobs are ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Thanks for the suggestions. I did only have a retract speed of 80. I tried all the way up to 500 and it had basically zero affect with the blobs. After watching about 8 prints today. It's happening at the end of the perimeters at the retract. And I tried anywhere between 4 and 8, for retract, and ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

I ordered the E3D V5 hotend on Tues. and got it Fri. Super fast shipping thru FedEx. Spent last night getting it all assembled and printing out 626's mount (very nice design, :D ) with my Budaschnozzle. I didn't use any RTV on the resistor, but I did wrap the heater block in approx. 10 layers of ...

Re: What to calibrate?

As far as the shift in the print. I'm willing to bet, you are missing a tooth on one of your belts or you have the belts way too loose. My printer will skip a tooth on a belt in a certain area of my bed if I run it too fast, because I "somewhat crashed it" one day. I personally don't think 187 would ...

Re: Ez extruder slipping

I just can't get past that 50mm/s barrier. Even with the temp set to 230 and using PLA it just won't get past it. My theory is that plastic is whipping thru the brass body so fast that it can't keep it's temp up high enough. I've even maxed out the current for the extruder motor, the only ...

Re: Ez extruder slipping

Been a while since I last posted, got a lot of things going on. But thought I'd chime in here. I have had problems with my EZ extruder stalling, just like kbob described. But only at speeds higher than 50mm/s. This is regardless of ABS or PLA. I am using the Budaschnozzle V1.1, but with a ...

Re: It's not the blues... What could it be?

The jury is still out. I tried messing with the belt tensions. Went from way loose to way tight. With virtually no difference. Then I checked the cheapskate assys. My Z one wasn't the best. Spent about an hour messing with it till it felt like the others. Tried it again and it was only marginally ...

It's not the blues... What could it be?

So yesterday I got my new belts from SPI. I installed them and printed out mhackney's infill calibration part to make sure it was still good and found this. image.jpg Any idea what I should look at? The only things I did was remove all the belts, so that I could get the gear drive out to make sure ...

Nice work! I want to do some of those.

Concerning the shift in your print. You may want to inspect your belts too. Could be a missing tooth or two. Looks like what happened to me, pics in my post here http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1537.

Re: Budaschnozzle Mount For the Rostock Max

Thanks for that advise Polygonhell. I've pretty much relinquished myself to avoid printing ABS at faster than 50. I did manage a pretty decent print going at 100mm/s with ABS. I was printing the gear vase at 0.2mm height, I sliced it with Cura using the Joris feature. It should have only taken 4 ...
